Really didn't expect that after our start and most recent losing streak.

We needed to take a step this year and we did. Playing meaningful games in march.

But somehow we're still not that far from a top 8 pick too

It feels good being a few days from the TDL and still in the playoff mix.

The last few years, we were pretty much out of it around the holidays. Last year, we held on a bit longer until mid-January. This year, TDL is 4 days away, Habs have 1 game left, and we are very much in the fray.

Meaningful games for as long as possible.

It was an ugly win. Good 1st. Real bad 2nd. Even worse 3rd.
But it's a win and it's not making the decision easy for our gm.
Realistically, we are not really a playoffs team and it showed tonight. But if we are 1 pt away of the WC come the trade deadline I would be pissed if we sold. But then again, maybe selling is the thing to do no matter what. I'm glad I'm not the GM

Gallagher is the defacto veteran voice for the room. He's pretty much saying "nah, we're trying to make it here." Kent's not going to want to burn any bridges.

I think it was more of a case of them playing like they were afraid to lose tbh. But yeah beside 1st line no one was trying to play offensive hockey

Dude, we had 8 shots in two periods. Players were standing around allowing the left for dead Sabres to get back in it. There was no reason to let off the gas in such an obvious manner.

MSL looked really bad tonight, especially after the playoffs starting tonight comments. He had opportunities to call a timeout, but as usual, he did nothing.

It is on the coaching staff to instruct the players to tighten things down after a 2 or 3 goal lead, and we rarely see it. There is no excuse for this crap in year 3 of him being bench boss.

Gallagher is the only player on the team that has played in the playoffs with a full Bell Centre no other player has that experience

Reading these comments…..what a strange fan base. Yes, the team didn’t deserve to win, welcome to hockey, it happens. Now, take a look at the roster , where we are in the standings, how well our young guys are playing, and convince me the team is poorly coached.

Get a grip fellas, just enjoy the ride. You want a team that always picks top 10 Buffalo is good option if you need a new home. You won’t be missed.

All these blown 3-goal leads are a coaching issue. You see it every time. They play soft, they lose focus and whiff on passes and shots, and the coaching staff just don't react and remain complacent from one period to the next.

Can you imagine the pressure in the playoffs when they can't handle a lead in the regular season?

No, it’s actually an issue with lack of experience, and the style of hockey they play. I swear after complaining about dump and chase, clog the neutral zone, most of you want to go back to that style and grind out 2-1 wins.

Me? I’ve seen enough Habs teams that couldn’t score but sure as shit could strangle a game to death and win 1-0. I’ll take the excitement thank you.
