Too bad Finland managed to beat Canada, losing this to fall out of the quarter finals would be quite deserved for this team.

Kakko could start making his center's life easier by actually defending in the defensive zone. His line is defending with 4 players. Im baffled Jalonen is letting him do this.

Team's full of 4th liner defensive specialists, let's complain about the defensive effort of the one player who can create offensive. Amazing thought process.

Germany much better in this period when they forecheck against these shaky defenders.

Kakko best Finnish player at J18 ages. He is a better voter than Teraväinen and Laine mix.

Probably the best period of hockey Germany has played so far. Söderlunds comment about Drai's "not so perfect" defensive play seems to have some positive impact on Leon, he's fired up. Neutral zone play and O-zone entries work much better than in past games, looks good.
If they keep playing like this, we might see a nice outcome here.

Just a typical performance from a team Finland that's made up of players who play in Europe. Unimaginative, slow PP, needing 10 grade-a goal scoring chances to score a goal, boneheaded defensive mistakes leading to easy scoring chances for the opponent.

We just don't have enough quality players when the best (or second best...) don't want to/can't attend.

I'm complaining about the one that cost already one goal and almost more. Kakko is not nearly good enough to get Ovechkin/Draisaitl treatment.

Kakko's stamina isn't very good and i think often times his legs are burning, after those offensive shifts. But yeah, while Kakko needs to work on building up stamina, JJ should also push him more to go there and come back home quicker.

Unfortunately, the focus is purely on 4th liner grinders who can't score goals. There would have been more goal-scorer types available even in Liiga. But unfortunately, for Jalonen the player needs to be good at defending. So this is the result. A severe lack of goal-scorers.

If you look at German roster, you see that it's a good team. Purely statistically Finland will lose to Germany every now and then. Nothing surprising there.
