GDT: Group A - May 19 - France vs Finland

The only reason I can think of is some team dynamic thing regarding juniority/seniority. But can this team, lacking in skill, really afford not to utilize his talent going forward? PP1 and PP2 should be switched too, the latter at least gets something done.

Kakko has no idea how to create a screen effectively and has a really good shot and also a really good passing ability. Yeah, slap him right into the front of the net, while Manninen is on the right side just passing and passing and never shooting!! The way this coaching staff utilises possibly the most talented prospect in Finnish hockey history makes me wanna puke.

Yeah, looked to be wide open on the backdoor there. I thought that that was why they were passing, to wait for opportunities like that. And when it arrives, a shot at the crest.
 
Pesonen has been pretty good in this tournanent. Although it took me a while to realize it's not Janne Pesonen...
At least I figured out it's a different Niko Mikkola than the one from the 90's.

The lack of talent on this team hurts my head.

Going from NHL hockey to this is pretty abysmal.
 
Kakko is totally misused on this PP. Also, not a fan of Jokiharju the way he fumbles alot of opportunities and has defensive lapses frequently.

I'm hoping this is just coach Jalonen trying to get everyone going in these no more crucial games. But I fear the return of the daft "everyone gets to try" mentality...
 
THE PP must be really bad by the Finns. They could play already 4 times and one time even almost 1 minute 5 on 3 and didn't score once.

Nah unfortunately Jalonen is one of the worst coaches at role / ice time allocation, has been since ever. The system's good but the rest not so much.

You can just look at the first liner Marko Anttila 0 points and every game tons of ice time.

The transition and cycling works okay, but the player allocation is idiotic.
