Still better than marjamäki hockey with nhlers

Team did well. 6-0 or 3-0 idc

Not best game but opponents kinda affect it

It's great to have such an expert tell us what's what:
Everything's going as expected, except Finland beating Canada. But I'll put that down to first match jitters for Canada. If they played near the end of the groups as usual, Finland likely wouldn't stand a chance.

Also, shrug, Slovakia's chokejobs kind of ruined the suspense there. If Finland's quarter final spot depended on the match vs Germany as would be if things had turned out slightly differently, how would you feel about Finland's chances?

Yes it's better than Marjamäki hockey but I wish Finland could get a more interesting coach and we could start beating these countries 10-0 with proper offensive play. So sick of underdog hockey as a favorite.

This PP is hurting my eyes. Not going far in this tournament with this team.
Yeah and the bad news are that Finland's opponent in Thursday's quarterfinal will really like be one of Sweden, Czech Republic and Switzerland. And with that bullshit powerplay it'll be goodbye Finland.

I can't believe this team get ****, we are probably going to win the group. And still people are complaining...

Yes this is much more than people expected before the tournament begun. But you have to admit when Finland gets the opportunity to play 7 PP and one of them almost 1 minute 5 on 3 they should be able to score at leat once or two times against a team like France. I mean they didn't play against Russia or Sweden or.....
But ok main thing is they won the game. But if they play the PP so bad against the German I don't think they will win it and finish the group as first. Though in this case it could be that they have to play against Switzerland in quarterfinal and I don't like this.

Only because Kakko hasn't scored points for 2 games now. They would be happy otherwise.
Do you honestly think people with eyes can't see that the PP in particular sucks ass and the level of play atm is quite weak?

Kakko certainly had his chances and it was due to himself he did not score. My gripe is with the ridicilous usage in PP.

It doesn't matter does Finland win Germany.
Finland's opponent in quarterfinal will be one of Sweden, Czech Republic and Switzerland that's a fact.

Lehtonen has been really solid in the tournament, wonder if he could make the jump to NHL. Could also be the other abysmal defensemen making him look like a Norris candidate, and him not being anything special

Yes, you are of course right, but I dont't like a quarterfinal Switzerland-Finland because I don't know in this case for whom to cheer. So it's even from my point of view not bad if they would lose against Germany. If Finland plays against the Czechs or Sweden it's clear for whom I cheer and both are very difficult opponents for Finland anyway.

If Sweden beats Russia & Latvia and the Czechs beat Switzerland. They all will end up with 18 points.

And if USA beats Canada in overtime or in the shootout, Germany beats Finland in regulation, and Canada beats Denmark in regulation, Canada, Finland, and USA will all end up with 16 points.

Neither of these three-way-ties is likely to happen though, even though the one in group B is more probable.

If that happens we are 2nd in the group and US is first because they beat us and Canada.

A bit different situation on the other group. Goal difference will matter. In our group it won't.
