As I said earlier in this thread, too much f***ing around with the puck in our zone.... Ramsey already taught them to "Just shoot the puck". Now he needs to adjust this for the D zone and just do the same thing. Get the puck out! Even Sekera is really bad when it comes to this and he's meant to be the leader.

While I'm quite happy with the lucky punch Drai delivered at the end, I feel really bad for the slovakian folks. I've seen all their WC games, they played much better than the results show. Sure, lots of people will scream "choke", but stuff like this is kinda easy to fix, it's a lack of focus in deciding situations, something Germany has been lacking for years 'til Sturm took over.

3-2 win, didn't expect this but sometimes you've got to be lucky.

Just like an average Slovakian emotional angry comment. Next year, you gonna be, again, cheering for the team — of course, being angry again after 4 rounds due to not making the playoffs.
Because even if we lost every game and played horrible like in past tournaments the home crowd would still cheer and go home happy that we are in top division. They would than forget and not realize the rats that are in involved in the federation. What’s with this acceptable nature to just be average with Slovaks? This plagues football as well, no f***ing consistency.

Really impressed by the tenacity of this team. Felt like the Hager line together with bottom six guys like Fauser, Noebels, Mauer and Bergmann -when he finally came in- and the pair of Holzer & Mo.Müller kept us in the game, when the Slovaks came pushing really hard, and then... finally our talented guys cut through, and secured the win!

Players of the match for me: Patrick Hager, Marcus Eisenschmid and Yasin Ehliz.

Lmao. Your country is a ridiculously nationalist if this comment was a political offense for you.

and Craig Ramsay is an awful coach, the dude failed everywhere

Germany called timeout. It was obvious what was going to happen. In this situation in Tampa, Cernak does not leave the ice until the victory is secured
As you wish, if you are including the fact that he is a Canadian coach and not just a coach then there is a nationalist bent to it , you know that as well as I do, you're not stupid or anything. It implies the problem is with a Canadian coach, not just a coach, you don't see the difference? o.k.

Anyway, as I stated, perhaps the issue is not so much the coaches(wherever they are from) and maybe just maybe it's because the Germans are now just as good as Slovakia in hockey, perhaps even better?

Could that possibly be the real issue ?

Food for thought, or of course you could always just keep playing the blame game. This time one can roll with the Canadian coach angle, after all, that's an easy and convenient one at fans disposal. Let's blame the "outsider"

I would have wanted to see both teams in the quarterfinals. Too bad the Canada game ended the way it did and Finland was narrowly beaten by the US.

Patrick Hager repeatedly great btw. No wonder, Söderholm entrusts him with the crucial faceoffs, and even added him to our first PP unit.

Haha, I hardly get emotional from watching hockey (years of Sabres hockey made me numb I guess ;) ) but that hit on Seider made me quite angry so it was great to see the rest of the team take the win the way rhey did.

I can get very emotional about sports ;D
especcially my national team .

Stop all the calculations.. it's over. Germany made it

Slovakia's QF berth could really depend on the USA-Germany game if we go for a huge reach and assume Canada beats the US (and the USA takes care of Denmark). USA obviously heavily favored but Germany isn't a walkover team anymore.

There's no actual realistic chance of USA and Germany both ending up with 12pts and Denmark has to go on an unprecedented tear in international hockey history to have more than 12 at this stage so, Germany is through.

Remember 2002? It ain’t so bad

You want to know the fun part? No, I don't f***ing remember, because I was too young. All I remember is post 2008 tournaments. Yeah, exactly the first tournament ever where we played in relegation round.

Tbh we totally didn’t deserve this. I mean we can boast about German efficiency or anything but in the end we need to get better. The team has the talent but lacks the chemistry, or at least that’s my impression.

On the other hand: their mentality is spot on, super patient, super determined.
No, you definitely deserve. You were better, you fight for that, Drai and other guys really wanted it, they had a drive and passion. Well done, Germany. Impressive finish.

And what I can say about my team. Probably nothing, it is how it is...

No, please, just stop all the calculations. We’re done, and now we must avoid relegation.

Prior to the tournament, but especially after the first game, everyone was happy that we wouldn’t use calculators this time - to make up situations of making the QFs.

It is actually funny that the exact opossite is happening. Just as usual, nothing new in Slovakia.

More painful than this lost is that we are in tournament but actually we are not, if you know what I mean.

At least, I hope that Lantosi and Liska can get a chance in America next season

The problem with a lot of Slovak fans is unrealistic expectations.
If Ramsey is so awful, how come we are playing the best hockey for the last decade or so (thats it feels like time wise).

No more resurrections. It’s quite clear that nothing will change. Last first round pick was dano, no more high end talent being produced. Once again 2 week fans will say that the tournament was great fun. It’s funny because we can’t even get one sport right, instead let’s be below average at everything. Do the players even care? Ramsay hasn’t learned Slovak how shocking, he says it’s not important. Satan will give him a nice paycheck though

Unrealistic expectations like actually competing in the tournament and not choking it away always? The NT is obviously playing better but the rest of the programs are decreasing in quality. When was the last time you saw a u20 game? I’ve been watching for 10 years and the quality has dropped very year. Skating worse, every year. Why every other country seem to be improving but us becoming worse at every sport it seems?

The Slovaks lost this game in their heads. Not that Germany defeated them, they alone defeated themselves. All started with Nagy's stupid boarding, continued with the tragical defense against the German empty net powerplay, and culminated with that nonsense play in the last minute, in both offensive and defensive zone. First a needless risk near the offensive blue, then a plenty of room offered to Draisaitl, one of the most dangerous scorers in the world. You simply cannot allow a player like Draisaitl to comfortably find the right spot, prepare the puck on his stick, take the aim undisturbed and shoot without any blocking attempt. The whole 10 second or so sequence was completely pathetic by the Slovak five, and it was purely a mental collapse, not the consequence of exhaustion, not the lack of skill, nothing like that. Just a mental blackout.

Again? Come on! This is just cruel.
