France has proven to be a lot more competitive than GBR and Italy. They are arguably ahead of Austria and on par with Norway when they have their A team. France is missing Bellemare, Roussel, Da Costa and Auvitu in this tournament. That's four of their five best players (Texier being the fifth).

France has continuously played in the elite division since 2008 so it seems odd to state that they don't belong to this level.

Denmark is better than Norway today if they played in an Olympic tournament with all their players. I'd rate them 10th in the world behind Germany & Slovakia. Latvia and Norway would round out a field of 12 pretty decent teams for an OG.

GB looked like they were firmly put in their place today. However with a very open Div 1A field next year (Italy, Korea, Slovenia, Hungary & Romania) I would not be shocked to see them back in 2021. Predictions that they will be fighting Romania against relegation to Div 1B I think are a little premature based on today's one game.

No i thing GB isn t a natural Div 1 A team.

Ouellet plays in the AHL, captain of Laval, and played for Canada in juniors.
