Denmark is a solid top 10 country in the world. If they get their absolute best players they're maybe the 7-8th best team in the world. Difference between Canada and Denmark is smaller than difference between Denmark and GB.

Imagine that some people actually thought GB had a chance. I find it so hilarious.

Yeah. This is Danes 17th straight year in A group.. GB got super lucky to get to the tournament. There is a lot of better teams in Division 1.

You cannot be serious, you are way more delusional than I initially thought. Guy is bottom DEL 2 goalie at best.

Saying potential. Playing with better players could make him a better goalie. I know he isn't AHL level right now.

I'm intigued. I'd love to hear what the "Tilburg situation" is?
All but a few of the best Dutch play for Tilburg Trappers in German Oberliga. They had made the finals 4 years in a row (won 3 times) and due to scheduling their club season ends later than IIHF tournament starts so they are unable to participate. Which leaves the Netherlands no choice but to ice their B team with 2-3 players playing abroad.

This has to be the most delusional post. Denmark are 12th. Definitely better than 11th Latvia when they have all of their best players and 10th at best. They aren't better than Germany (8), Norway (9) and Slovakia (10).

I would rank Sweden, Canada, Russia, USA, Finland, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia and Germany higher than Denmark if everyone has their absolute best teams on paper. So your right they are top 10 but not as good as 7-8th.

Exactly. DEL2 seems to be a good stopgap if he has what it takes to get further up. Which I don't think he does but you never know.
But the quality of the DEL2 is overall worse than the EIHL where he currently plays. Maybe he goes there and earns his way to a better league as it's a better known commodity but it's a risk for him as it could lead nowhere.

I think he's more likely to be tempted by a backup job in a higher league than a move to the DEL2.

Have you seen Norway play recently?
Norway is in a generation change and Zuccarello can't play for them. When he plays for Norway, they instantly gain a step. They have a tough tournament, but they also still have some quality players.

Regardless, I think Denmark is stronger. They have more quality players (Eller, Andersen), but Zuccarello is a special kind of Norwegian lemming.

The most natural progressive step up for Bowns would be EBEL or a lower end Allsvenskan team
That is absolutely correct but someone from those leagues giving a contract for decent money to EIHL guy is unlikely, the risk is just too big. While success in DEL2 would be sort of approval stamp as DEL-EBEL-DEL2 connection is pretty firmly established.
