US needs to take a cue from Canada and clean up there rebounds allot better. Eventually Canada is going to start pouncing on those.

Nurse looks awesome. Demko looks good. Pace of the game is great.

Demko is the real deal. Jealous of the Nucks. Have to think if we hadn't made the Perron trade, that is who we would have taken with our 2nd.

This might be the most exciting scoreless period I've seen in a long time.

Junior hockey always doesn't translate to NHL.

There's lots of goalies who have been great at the WJC and subpar in the NHL.

As a canuck fan, I'm hoping he's the real deal though

Yeah, really bad. Giveaways, poorly timed shots, all that good stuff.

I haven't seen anything that he hasn't done at times in any other game. Giveaways happen even to the best players. It's happened to virtually every top 6 forward on TC in the first as well. Guess they're all playing 'really bad'...or are you saving that particular bit of hyperbole only for Virtanen?

Yeah I agree, nice goal by Mcdavid on the backside feed

You think this game matters? all Mcdavid needs to do is not be the reason U.S.A gets 3 goals and he still goes 1st. He'd have to **** the bed the rest of the season to ruin his chances of going 1st

Don't mind the call, Ritchie jumped up a bit plus refs need to call something eventually, both teams playing on the edge physically.

Fun game though, as advertised. As a Nuck fan it's nice to see Demko playing well, great toe save early, among others. Canadian bench chirping U.S. a lot it seems, haha, good stuff. Lot of emotion in the game thus far.

Just because I noticed Virtanen is having a bad period doesn't mean I have some sort of agenda... He's just not playing well so far...

Fourth line impressed me this period, especially Crouse.

Yeah, I'm not saying he's bad, just this game he looks really off.

Probably a mix of that and getting into the intensity of the game, I know he's a rough type of player.

Well I saw a couple times where he had issues taking the puck up quickly on the left side and even times where he opted to go up the right side. Looks like he's trying to unload the puck quickly after getting it as well. I get letting McD and Lazar handle the puck but he's got to be a little more patient and use his size to protect the puck.

Looked a lot better late (as did the whole line). Canucks fans need to stop being so damn defensive and if they can't help it please keep to the thread on our board. It's so cringeworthy to read all that crap here.

His feet didn't leave the ice until after initial contact was made as he ended up leaning on Larkin. It should now make sense

Sorry, but thats not how it works.

The rule isn't you are allowed to launch yourself and leave your feet as long as its after contact, the exception is if the contact is deemed to have caused the player to lift off the ice.

Canada has some serious puck possession going on in the first the US just getting to watch. Canada needs to start getting a few more tape to tape passes and not so many in the feet passes. That hit by Morrissey was huge and Domi makes me laugh always chirping the US good on him.
