Are you new to the idea of booing the star of a rival's team?

Maybe it's because I'm from Minnesota and we don't really boo the opposing players, but I just find the logic funny.

Yeah, I'm not saying he's bad, just this game he looks really off.

Probably a mix of that and getting into the intensity of the game, I know he's a rough type of player.

Vitanen is a good skater, but he's not very smart. The call was okay, it looked like he jumped into him a bit.

Let em play, though. Love this hockey. Not much separates these teams.

There is very little chance that McDavid doesn't go first overall. I like Eichel and think it closer than a lot of people think but no GM would want to risk being the guy that passed on McDavid. He's going 1st.

Eichel getting shutdown pretty good, he tries to go wide and Morin just pokes the puck off his stick, tries to shoot and it's blocked.

Awesome first period. Love the chippy-ness so far. Very physical game, grade A chances for both teams, crowd is fully engaged. Cant ask for much more. Besides the storyline (Eichel vs McDavid) has been pretty quiet. Best players in 1st- Demko, Butcher, Fasching/ Nurse, Domi, Duclair. Domi looking like his father in 1st, really getting under Americans skin

Have to say though that the refs are doing a great job of letting both teams play. It doesn't even feel like an International game. More like an NHL game.

Minutes before the penalty, I mentioned to my brother how the Americans are always facing the boards as if they're trying to draw a boarding penalty. Just an observation.

I've been really underwhelmed by Heatherington, Hicketts and especially Morin today and throughout the tourney.

Other than a terrible turnover and a few missed passes, Morin has played quite well this tourney. He's making defensive stops like the one on Eichel at the end of the period.

You have to take strides to move on the ice. It's called skating.

Well if Canada keeps their physicality up the way they are I'm sure you will see more examples of what I'm talking about.

Ritchie's problem was he's gearing up way too much to hit someone. You notice him just striding full speed at players. Everyone else gives out hits when they see it, which makes what Ritchie did all the more obvious. That was like the fourth time that Ritchie was striding hard to hit someone.

Honestly though it wasn't a penalty cause he pulled up before he hit him. He should have been called for an earlier one if they were calling "Charging." But Ritchie needs to tone it down to the rest of his team.
