Agreed, did have a couple late shifts that showed some promise. Feel like that line just needs to finish one chance even strength and the flood gates will open, seem to be grippin the twigs a bit imo.

Yeah, maybe. He just seems lost without the puck. Kept seeing him gain the zone, find McDavid and just stand there surrounded by players with his sick raised "ready to shoot". McDavid of course doesn't pass because Jake won't get that shot away.

Hopefully that stops happening in the 2nd..

Damn, Darnell Nurse has a pretty bad receding hairline for such a young guy, must be all the stress accumulated from being in the Oilers organization

Barely been tested.

:shakehead

Weird. I'd say it's the other way around.

:shakehead

Haha I knew Canada would get a charging penalty

Sooooo clever.

I am far from objective (no one here is) but I thought Canada was the better team - especially after the 10 minute mark. A little sloppy in our own end but Canada had quality chances while the U.S. shots were from the parameter. No way to know who will win, and it may not matter (both teams will likely be in the GMG), but I think if the game continues this way, Canada will start burying their chances and win.

nice. Classy

Virtanen has been invisible on the McDavid line..He needs to go back down to the 4th line.

I have to say, Nurse for me projects even better than when he was drafted. Projections for D are sketchy but in a re-draft at this point I might move him up a couple spots.

Maybe it's because I'm from Minnesota and we don't really boo the opposing players, but I just find the logic funny.

"Whoa, that guy's good! ... BOOOOOOOO!!!!!!"

Oh, okay....

Well then, the little round black thing is called a puck and it's moved by something the players carry called a stick. The players themselves move about on sharp metal blades called skates on a surface made of ice. Ice is composed of frozen water....

Junior hockey always doesn't translate to NHL.

There's lots of goalies who have been great at the WJC and subpar in the NHL.

As a canuck fan, I'm hoping he's the real deal though

No doubt, but his game is calm and the guy's reflexes are fantastic. That save where he did the splits to stop that fast rebound off the boards - I'm not sure many goalies would have made that save. He also seems very focused in the face of traffic. Consider me impressed.
