LOL at people saying Marner played bad. The hate is real. He was one of the best forwards today. Chabot looked awful, not steady. Sanheim and Dermott played extremely well. Strome was hands down the best forward however.

Marner was the only player on his line that did anything. Funny how Barzal didn't have a great game today, yet gets no criticism whatsoever.

I thought Virtanen came on as the game went on, and when he played with Strome and Crouse in particular. He just doesn't seem to have the skill to finish.

Hicketts was the player of the game yet everyone continues *****ing about him. I don't get it, he's small but he's strong, physical, skates well, moves the puck well, and uses his skating well defensively. He's a returning player. Sure Sanheim could use some more ice-time but that doesn't mean Hicketts is a **** player.

Agreed. But I thought Strome impressed me the most.

lol at people saying Chabot was the worst. Give me a ****ing break.

The guy played 40 minutes on a back to back game.

He was great for the first half of the game.

Then he looked gassed... and had to win all the board battles and also break the puck out since Hicketts lost all passing ability and was just hitting shins and icing it in the last half of the game. (tbh he was probably exhausted too.)

I'm Canadian and we were lucky to win. We looked like total ****ing ****. One of the worst efforts I've ever seen by a Canadian WJC team. We've had teams with less talent play much better and harder than fancy bunch of perimeter forwards: Strome, Marner, Barzal, Point, etc. The only guy who takes the puck to the net with regularity is Virtanen, and he couldn't lift the puck off the ice if his life depended on it; got stone hands.

Gonna be really tough to get a medal of any color. Sweden and Russia I think could rip apart this team -- especially with the lousy effort they just displayed.

Blame the coach. Giving him a ton of minutes this game after Canada played yesterday was just a terrible decision.

Bad coaching.

I swear were watching a different game, he was outstanding, the amount he made stuff happen when he was on the ice.

Chabot and Barzal are both studs, i love Chabot's game. Haven't been a fan of Virtanen ever since his draft year tho :(

Barzal had a good game today for the ice time he was used. He barely played in the 2nd period and was not on the 5 on 3 or 5 on 4. Where Marner played almost the entire 4 mins.

He scored the winning shootout goal, and when he was on the ice, he almost always created offence.
Not sure what there is to criticize? He and Strome have been Canada's best players through 3 games.

He was okay defensively, and should only be used for defensive zone faceoffs. He's pretty bad offensively, I wouldnt play him at all in the offensive zone

How did Virtanen score 45 in the dub? Has his shoulder surgery affected him that much? Or did he always have terrible finish lol
