Dermott barely played. Hard to play poorly when you dont get on the ice.

He's pretty much a non-factor.

Sanheim had that nice rush.

Marner really looks lost out there. Any physical play and he coughs it up along the boards.

Lowry's going to have to give his icetime to others if this team is going to win.

Granted - they played desperate and well. But to me this was a poor disorganized 'effort' from Canada from top to bottom.

No doubt. I agree that we played poorly. That said, I think they played better than desperate. They really played a good game.

LOL at people saying Marner played bad. The hate is real. He was one of the best forwards today. Chabot looked awful, not steady. Sanheim and Dermott played extremely well. Strome was hands down the best forward however.

I agree 100 percent.

Just like I agreed when people said Marner didn't play good in game one.

Marner played very good this game, especially compared to his linemmates...

lol

Imagine an actual hockey fan reading this thread for a summary of the game? Every single player was the worst player in the world and should have never been drafted

Half of the posters here don't give a **** about Team Canada - they're here for their own prospects.

Lowry is single-handedly going to lose this tournament if he doesn't address some big issues with this team.

The issue is him and his mis use of players. Playing Hicketts and Chabot over 32 minutes is not the answer. I hate the flyers and can't stand their fans but holy hell are they right, you need to give Sanheim an opportunity on the PP, the guy brings way more to the table than ****ing Hicketts. And playing Chartier, Quennville over Konecny is discusting. Konecny has his heart on his sleeve, those other two have been useless.

Konecny barely saw the ice, and Sanheim didn't play much either. Obviously I'm biased as a Flyers fan but those guys get a lot less time than they should.

Unless the Canadian coaches get a clue this team isn't going far at all.

Not your imagination as a Flyers fan. Lots of ice-time decisions are questionable.

Blackwood will need to carry us for us to win this tournament

I don't know, he didn't look that much better than McDonald. Canada had better chances, but Suisse had the best chance of the 3rd period where it went through Blackwood's legs. A couple inches to the right and Suisse would have won this game 3-2. And it would have also been considered a "weak" goal let in.

lol at people saying Chabot was the worst. Give me a ****ing break.

The guy played 40 minutes on a back to back game.

Lowry & Co. got out-coached pretty badly this game

Hmmm ...Why couldn't Swiss coach do a better job in preparing his troops for that must win game vs Danes?

And why weren't Swiss aware that ( again realistically ) they needed to pull out all the stops to win this game in relegation?

They seemed to be happy to take it to OT=PATENTLY DUMB

That Swiss coach is NO MENSA CANDIDATE!!!

This isn't a game thread its an exercise of fan bases putting down their rivals prospects

Makes it hard to figure out what really happened if you aren't watching

Those two players can make a difference.

Lowry keeps going back to the same well all the time. He has other players that can play. Anyway next game if he does this, it will be a disaster

Virtanen was creating chances but every time he got the puck he just dangled and tried to do everything himself. Needs to use his linemates more, which is concerning as that's been his biggest issue as a prospect since before he was drafted. You can't really say he was bad, but that playstyle while not finishing is frustrating. Especially if he's playing with Strome, who should have other passers on his line for his great shot. Marner was hit or miss, but I think there were more hits than misses. His game was fine. Hicketts too. I still believe this team can win and they're just finding their groove. On to the next one, way to go Canada!

Chabot had 5 min where he didnt play well, rest of the game he was the best Canadian d-man. Dermott u cant judge, he played too little imo. Sanheim was very good when he played but it was so little. H. Fleury I thought was our worst dman today, still trying to figure out how he was such a lock picking team Canada.

Barzal was my player of the game, thought he was great!

Canada wins.

But somehow I don't feel that excited.

Did Lowry go to the Steve Spott school of coaching? and this team reminds me of the 2013 team so much...And Marner looks so much like RNH///except RNH played decent in that tournament. but Marner is just 18.I really didn't expect much from him anyway...so, he's pretty much delivered...on my expectations anyway..

Hicketts was the player of the game yet everyone continues *****ing about him. I don't get it, he's small but he's strong, physical, skates well, moves the puck well, and uses his skating well defensively. He's a returning player. Sure Sanheim could use some more ice-time but that doesn't mean Hicketts is a **** player.
