Firing Keefe is the only move they got left, what's the hold up? It's actually impressive he's held his job this long.
If Tre didn’t extend him he may well have fired him by now. How bad would that be, new GM extends you for 2 years and then cans you before it even starts. Lol

I actually gave up on the Leafs early in the season when I realized they had got even worse. I actually tuned in today, and it was a lazy effort again. As soon as I saw Skinner start playing hard after that first goal, I knew it was all downhill.

I'd like us to just flat out not make the playoffs this year. Get a nice draft pick, trade Marner. Pray for goaltending.

But this team now? Not a chance, they're running on empty in January. Glad Nylander got his contract.

I'd actually file tonight under "pretty good road effort" but there's a lot of gross stuff that this team won't be able to overcome.

Blueline is either too old, too dumb. Transition game is completely broken. Brodie and Gio are so cooked. McCabe is a real adventure but you appreciate his snarl.

Nylander has just stopped skating. Not nearly as assertive skating hard and with the puck.

JT was trying but he looks like a crash and bang third liner.

Matthews and Marner came out so dominant but when the heat got turned up, I dunno.

Rielly was a beast.

Jarnkrok, Domi, Bertuzzi, Knies. They all just seem to be fading into 4th liners who can't make plays, though Bert was unlucky in the first with that stuffed post.

Jones, pretty solid, but just leaky enough.

Bad team is bad. They are going to struggle picking up points on this road trip and I think heads will roll and we'll accept this team is not making the playoffs.

it sucks being a fan of this team right now. there's nothing to enjoy

Core is not able to win us games. Tavares is the worst signing in the sport. Nylander might give him a run for his money there, Matthews and Marner with the typical overpayments

Defence is f***ing awful, we have one top 4 defencemen in Rielly, 3 bottom pairing in Benoit, McCabe and Liljegern, and then AHL trash. I can't wait for brodie's contract to expire, I hated that signing from the first year, a defencemen needs to have some offensive output, otherwise he's just as bad as an ozone only player like barrie. Gio needs to go to the retirement home, benoit is a bottom pairer

our goaltending is just not it either, jones has tried, he's a third stringer. Woll is hurt and even when he comes back, this team is so awful infront of their goalies he won't be able to do anything. I'm not even talking about the Russian seive

keefe has worn out his welcome, bring on berube or sutter or gallant or f***ing babcock
Always said Willy was a merc just like his Dad.

But he won me over. Still the only player tonight that had some chances and I wasnt yelling at perpetually

Can Martin Jones make a same?

Literally the exact same goal he allowed versus MacKinnon the last game.

Anything upstairs is a sure goal... or downstairs like Draisaitl. Any shot has a chance against him - how do you defend that?

Start planning for next season. This season is a wash.

Do not throw away any assets (prospects and/or draft capital).

Do not "go for it" until tavares is off the cap and you are not running four f***ing forwards with 11AAV+

This cap distribution and roster construction is not sustainable for any kind of success

Where is the team spirit in that. I am sure we can find a 1st the throw away on some rental.

They said we've scored 8 goals this season after pulling our goalie, that's incredible. Maybe that's a record?

The Oilers haven't lost a game since we had warm weather in Toronto, the fact that we almost got a point from them in their house is yet another sign of how great this team is. And let's not forget, @Evilhomer guaranteed we'd be taking over 1st place in the Atlantic in January, I can't be bothered to do the math ATM but I'm guessing this means we're guaranteed to win the rest of our games in January.

Fun times just around the corner, the rest of the league must be shaking in their boots right about now, especially Calgary.

4 in a row goaltending has blon.

You need proof?

look at the 2-1 goal.

Imagine a save from the gutless cowards that call themselves goalies
we scored 2 f***ing goals

your excuses for the team gets real tiring when you blame the goalie every single game.

Unless it is a 4 on 0 with gretzky, lemieux, howe, and orr coming, it must be a bad goal

we scored 2 goals, both from the top line. 2nd line has been so awful the last 4 games, should've dealt nylander when we had the chance, he's returned to his lazy shit play. tavares cannot play top 6 hockey anymore, knies is in over his head

defence was pathetic on goal 2 and 3.

It use to be the Leafs could find ways to get points out of games where they weren't playing their best, but now they're finding ways lose points even when they're leading in games. :( :( :(
They collected a lot of points they didn’t deserve earlier. Now they’re blowing leads before they get to extra time. Karma or something for playing such ass hockey to close out games

One of the reasons we can't routinely close games is we're terrible at managing the puck.

Just throw it carelessly all over the place, make high risk passes in dangerous areas of the ice and turn it over.
