Great photos in hockey history you've just seen for the first time (Part III)

This is such a great photo. I often see images of Richard like this, where he's off balance and driving to, or (like this) having driven to, the net.

The 'A' on his sweater suggests this is from the 1955-56 season (Émile Bouchard had been captain since 1948, but after this season Richard took over). Richard was 34 years old this season, and it was the last time he was a 1st-team All Star. He and Gordie Howe tied for 2nd in the League with 38 goals apiece, both well behind the younger Jean Beliveau in his greatest season.
 
It's so weird to me when I see pictures of players from the 40's, 50's and 60's.... The players always look like they are in their late forties or early fifties. Always strikes me as so odd how old they look.
Doesn't Maurice Richard look young in these? ;)

It's true, though. Humans (at least the whites who dominated hockey) just seemed to age faster back then. Probably due to having a harder life.
