Note that both teams are wearing their "home" uniforms. When the Bruins wore yellow at home, it created problems with black-and-white TV broadcasts when the visitors wore the usual white: not enough contrast. So, here, the Rangers were asked to bring along their blue shirts to Boston.

A lot of (seemingly) never-before-seen photos of Gordie Howe have appeared since he passed away. I especially like this one: a clear, colour photo of him (apparently) from the early 1950's.

Before expansion - the first one - this gentleman found himself bouncing between the NHL and the AHL. With the arrival of expansion, he became a first line centre in the NHL.

That wouldn't be Henri....he's not that much younger than Beliveau. Even in Jean's first year in Quebec, Henri was 13 years old.
