.... meh.... you guys did alright. Loved Eddie Johnston & most certainly Cheevers... two guys who's styles, dispositions, characters far better suited to the Bruins & the City of Boston really. The Broons beat themselves through the 70's on several occasions rather than actually "getting beaten" by Montreal, Philly etc. The Bruins were that good, too good really, flawed as a result. Was never big on your Coaching, Don Cherry in particular. Too many mental lapses; brain freezes. Noted the same with Sinden earlier & certainly during the 72 Summit Series.
I can’t argue any of that. The Bruins should have won more Cups with Orr et al and they shot themselves in the proverbial foot many times. Can’t rewrite what happened!
