So much salt about the GOTY consideration

Let it go guys.

edit: Since this is not as impressive as it is against the Oilers, let's see some nicer goals scored against the Oilers this year as naturally they are bad so player's should be able to do this consistently.

No salking for me. I guess I'll put it on my highlight-real.

Is Reilly a new-breed of Offensive-D? Or is he in the old mold? It's all pucks off the glass and tight checking.

Well to be fair it isn't better than Tarasenko's or Ovechkin's, so should it even be considered if we know it isn't the best?

Not saying the thread can't be here, Im saying it isn't a GOTY candidate.

What happened to the Oilers being sorted out now that they have a new coach?

Very Few Current Dman can dangle past dman and toe drag like Rielly did last night.

Goal of the year candidate in the defenseman category? Keep in mind he's a 20 year old defenseman! You expect these goals from Ovechkin and Tarasenko, not Rielly

I feel like Rielly was always capable of this, but he always hesitated.

Now we're seeing an increased confidence in his own abilities which is making him more comfortable. In turn he is starting to play up to his own potential.

The only thing with Rielly is his shot is pretty bad from distance. He really needs to develop a good clapper and he could one day be a #1 D.

What a great goal that was. For once, the Toronto hype machine is right. Morgan Reilly is a hell of a player, looks like he's definitely gonna be a future number 1.

Wow, Ference on that play... Hopefully he didn't do his usual whining after the game about how everyone else didn't play like his old Bruins team and that's why we're losing.

MacT made sure everyone knew, in an interview the day before this game, that Nelson has made very little difference and the positive turn was all because of the player moves he made.

This game was a very well timed after MacT was patting himself on the back and taking all the credit.

Goty AINEC.

It was nice, but really? Not only is it the best goal of the year, but it's not even close? Yeah, that's not an accurate statement. Hoffman, for instance, had one where he beat two or three defenders to get a goal earlier this season. I would say that's pretty close.

Hell of a goal, though. Definitely one of the top ones of the season.

he scored many goals like this when he played for the moose jaw warriors. caryle wouldn't let rielly just play. former nhl dman Steve Staois has also been working with Rielly and Gardiner .

Brian Burke could have been serious about having him 1st overall!!

No doubt in my mind that when Burke said that he was 100% serious. Leaf scouts hit a gem there

Whats even funnier is that it was Yakupov who turned the puck over to Rielly :yo:

Rielly is one of the best picks since Wendel Clark for the Leafs. He will only get better and a player to build around.
You go kid! Rielly is fast becoming one of my favourite Leafs.
