Wallinder not playing? Weekend is ruined
He is in today!

Says Hirose is in, but he is actually out and Bliss is taking his place. Berggren isn't in the lineup, must be getting called up. Eemil Viro has a lower-body injury

Wallinder probably had either a minor groin tweak, or if I remember correctly someone said I think about 7-10 days ago said the flu was going around the team.

Though the only concern I have with him is he is never brought up by management in the organization when they talk prospects.

He's still adjusting to NA, IMO.

Not worried about him. Unless he has the flu.

Then that sucks, feel better.

Such a disaster, really didn't imagine GR could be this awful this season. Only Edvinsson has been a real standout amongst prospects. Every single forward prospect being under .5ppg is concerning whether it's a development or talent issue.

GR has a serious personnel issue, they've been trash for a very long time now. These players have been fantastic in other leagues...something doesn't check out.

The wings don’t own GRG and are just a partner with them. In the past some of our euro prospects had less than nice things to say about Grand Rapids the team going back to the 2007-2013 era. (Linked in an older thread somewhere here)

How much is it culture within the franchise/ownership there, the players themselves, or coaching and development staff? So many of our young players were standouts in comparable leagues. The only two that seem to be playing close to how they played elsewhere are Johansson and Edvinsson.

Griffins were hemmed in their zone for a long time after Texas pulled their goalie, and we finally got a clear, Berggren hustled to beat the delayed icing and stopped quickly to shake the defender and put the puck in the net. So much heart on that play; he's NHL material. There is not much else to say about that.

Lombardi had his best game of the season. Hopefully he's getting close to breaking out—there is so much talent and finesse in his game.

Tuomisto had his first AHL goal, which ended up being the GWG.

All in all, it was a solid effort for the GRG tonight.

I was there - after 1st period it looked like it would get ugly (16 shots against) but they settled in.

Cossa was stellar - didn’t think he had a chance on either goal.

To me the player of the night was Lombardi. 2 assists and easily could have had more. Most dangerous player all night IMO

Good win

Nice save percentage there for Cossa. Should keep the doubters quiet for a day. Great for Tuomisto with the goal. Seems like all the kids got points. If Berggren gets traded I’m going to be angry. Trade one of the vets. Just make room for him

Cossa is someone who I still have high hopes for, he’s got all the right tools. Just got to give him the chance to put the kit together.

I think you said it right, the doubters will be quiet for a day. I am not a hater, nor a Cossa lover. Compared to Wallstedt, Cossa is more raw and in my opinion his ceiling is lower then Wallstedt at the moment.

Wallstedt will hit the NHL earlier then Cossa, I am convinced it will happen this way. Still rooting for Cossa, but his development has been rough and not as we all expected.

We will see in 5 years.

Lombardi is on the puck in the offensive zone more while Kasper is focused more on defense, often to his own detriment. If he was higher in the lineup then I think we’d see more from Kasper offensively.

The guy I’m most concerned with is Soderblom. He’s just not getting through traffic as much as a guy his size should.

Elmer has one more year to turn things around. Wish Lombardi and Kasper were on the same line, they were so good last preseason together

Yeah ... I'm not seeing it with him. He didn't do much of anything last night.
