Jim Nantz really is one of the iconic voices of sport not just golf.
Met him at the Masters once, super nice guy. We talked golf of course but when i said i was from Winnipeg the first thing he said was i hope you get the Jets back, this was in 05 .Jim Nantz really is one of the iconic voices of sport not just golf.
Looks like we are opening mid week this week.Playing golf here in Winnipeg during the Masters, frigging brilliant. Would have been nice to have my new clubs but they are delayed.
Oh well i'm getting a demo set from the club because i sold my old set.
All i can say is FORE .
No , everything is really backed up. Last update i got was maybe tomorrow. Only good thing about this crappy weather is it's giving me more time to wait while not missing any golf days. This is the start of 7 weeks waiting.Get your new clubs yet?

they’re probably on that ship ....![]()
So i was told yesterday that the new sticks were coming in this Friday.Well that was fun... finally got My fitting session done at Golftec...
Went with Mizuno JPX921 Forged... 5 to Gap Wedge... JPX921 Forged - Mizuno Golf Canada
A Mizuno 4 Hybrid...
A Taylor Made Hi Toe RAW Wedge with full diamond face...
All with Aerotech Steelfiber 95 Lite Shafts on them...
A very interesting and exhilarating bit of fun... we knocked over 2000 rpm off the irons and gained 14 more yards on a 7 iron...
My previous set were made 1 inch too short for my somatotype... shafts too much flex... and of course old style lofts... way too weak...
I had a multi-taper steel shaft picked out until My Pro offered the Aerotech shafts he uses for tournament golf... steel was great but these swing effortlessly for Me... and allow for longer use as I age...
Now like @Jets 31 ... got to wait 5 to 7 weeks...
Big kids and their toys... they just get more expensive...
Update... kiboshed the Arotech's... we thought they might be an $80 add on... we find out from the factory they are a $315 add per club... back to the multi-tapered steel...![]()

I know you aren't asking me but mine was about 2 to 3 hours . That was for the Driver, 3 wood , all the irons and 3 wedges . I've played golf a long time and never had this done before, it was very interesting. How long did the fitting process take? Sounds really interesting.

@John Agar
My 2 iron is a Mizuno, and puring that club is the best feeling in the bag. It's like spreading warm butter. I'm not sure I could stay off the golf course with a full Mizuno iron set!
Hit in front of a radar my last lesson and found out that not only do I no longer hit outside to in, but I've over-corrected my swing to such an extent that my "good" swings were in the 5+ degrees inside to out range.
Unsurprisingly to you all, I'm a big numbers guy, so seeing it on a screen and getting some tips for how to get further out was extremely helpful. Hit some balls on the range afterward, and changing my takeaway, speeding up the backswing and slowing down the weight transfer a little on the downswing felt like it solidified everything from driver down to wedges.
I'm gonna try to make it out tomorrow or Friday morning, so we'll see if I stand by this then!
Geez that's alot of coin, do you think they make any money on golf clubs?Mine was a little over 2 hours.
Enjoyed every second of it.
Just upset a bit I’m not crazy enough to spend $315 per shaft for those Airotec’s... I could afford them... but I’d be embarrassed to hit a bad shot with them...
They made swinging any of the clubs effortless... I can see why tour pros use them... but $3200 addition...? You better be making money with those clubs...

I do appreciate y'all talking about how much you spend on clubs. No question in my mind that fitting is well worth the time and money, but my game is crap so it would be largely a waste of money. Maybe when I'm retired and golfing more though. On the bright side, I'm probably only about two years away from getting a Callaway Mavrik driver (brand new) for about $100 so that should be a nice upgrade for me.![]()
Part 2
after spraying the ball everywhere on the lesson the pro hangs up a target on the tarp and asks me to just do a very short back swing and try to hit the target.
so for my entire 30 minute practice session after my lesson I focused on my take away only and hit chips at the target and forgot about the mechanics. All I did was try to hit the target which forced clean contact and proper club face angle.
It felt great and after 20 minutes I was feeling the contact and hitting dead strait. For the last 10 minutes I would do four shot sequences 1 chip, 1 x 50%, 1x 75%, then one full swing but all very target focused.
The crazy part is all of a sudden 8 out of 10 shots were on target vs maybe 1 or 2 out of 10 durning the lesson.
It was good to just turn off the recorder, forget the mechanics, and feel the contact.
I was at peace once again for both lesson and practice. I am enjoying the journey back from the brink of retirement.
Nice, I love my Mizuno’s. Hope they’re good to you and come sooner than later.Well that was fun... finally got My fitting session done at Golftec...

You should only buy a fitted driver. It’s easily the most important club to have fitted.very interesting boys. I asked my pro at Golftec and he said it’s a little busy.
I am thinking of at least getting a custom driver.
Feel the contact... hmmmm ... ?
Prescient ps' ...
Break the swing down in bits... specifically finishing at the optimal impact position...
Everything you do going back... within reason... is so not as important as finishing in the O.I.P. ...
I think you liked this video earlier in this thread ...
Focus on the O.ptimal... I.mpact... P.osition segment... seer that into your mind...
That's mostly what matters...
Carry on with your journey...
And after your lessons... go practice... breaking it down in bits... and feel the contact... when you start to know the difference in contact...
You're there... at peace... on a journey...
