Has anyone tried putting an oversized grip on a driver? I've seen a few videos and it seemed like the people liked the reults. I want to put a Fatso putter grip on my driver.
Oversized grips are typically for people with very large hands or some kind of arthritis. If the grip is too big for your hands, it will effect your release and the direction of the club head.

Different story with the putter. I put an oversized Supergrip on my Ping putter last season. Never putted better tbh. Feels so smooth and perfectly weighted.

I did the same with the putter, feels great and sometimes i putt well with it, sometimes. I changed all my grips to mid-size and love the feel of the clubs. You know what they say if you have big hands and big feet :naughty: big gloves and big shoes.

You rang? I remember the first time I got my clubs regripped, had it done at Caddy Shed. Talking to the guy and he goes what grips do you want? I said big ones. He said let me see your hands. I held them out. He said whoa!

So yeah, I have oversized grips and gloves. No, I don't drive a really big truck or a super expensive sports car. Make of it what you will.

You’re poor? :sarcasm:

Played 3 nights in a row. Now my upper back has completely seized. Agony. Got wife to walk on my back. Now I have back pain and a bunch of foot sized bruises too. Rest today, playing tomorrow.
I had that happen to me two years ago when I picked up golf again, and I went to a PT to fix it. It still bothers me cause I went back to the US after like 3 sessions and didn't want to pay the money it'd cost here, but I do recommend getting a professional to work it out.

Of course my back locked up to the extent where I couldn't take deep breaths and definitely not swing a golf club, so maybe it's not that bad.

I did the same Ducky'... put a Flatso 30 Superstroke on My Tommy Armour T-Line... added 3/4" of shaft extension and I am putting better...

And can practice longer...

The shorter putters are harder on 40 plus year old players... back strain...

I am planning on going to an upright pendulum putter with extended shaft next year... just so I can practice without worry of back strain...

I also use Jumbo Grips on My irons & woods... basketball player... can palm a basketball... big palm and long fingers... the jumbos make a big difference for Me...

What are you doing with your wrists? I just try to keep them flexible and whippy. You shouldn't have any muscle tension at all in your hands and wrists when swinging. All of the muscle tension should be in your lower body. I just finished a lesson package and basically all of it was drilling the weight shift. People confuse themselves thinking they have to hold their wrists/hands a certain way. When in reality, that's only a concern for someone who already hits the ball solidly every time. This is a great video that touches on this:

So I’ve been struggling hard for a while with thins. And a lot of it felt like tension was causing it. Watched the video. Felt a bit odd to start, but after trying this at the range the results were off the charts. Essentially took all the tension out of my swing and the ball was coming off the irons and hybrids better than it has in years. And the sound!!!!
Please Lord let me take this to the course tomorrow! Thanks winnipegger. Hope is not lost.

Ya if you have big hands they’re perfect. I’ve just seen lots of players heading to larger grips without that being the case. I think a mid to large size grip feels comfortable to them but they don’t realize right away how it’s going to hinder their ability to release the club and work the ball if it’s too big.

My wife bought me an Odyssey Stroke Lab putter season before last, really nice putter. Struggled putting at the start of last season so I decide to pull out my old Ping Anser 2 and figure if I’m going to try the big jumbo grip, it should be on this putter. Haven’t used my Odyssey since!

I think I’ll get the Odyssey done this Spring but it’s a bit trickier because of how much of a part the grip plays in the balance of that particular putter. The Superstroke I have on the Ping is quite light, I don’t think it would suit the Odyssey.

Lol glad you found it useful. I like that guys teaching style. Huge change in my swing after relaxing the hands/wrists/arms. Let the club whip through the ball almost like whipping a towel. I still have a push/fade problem but I think I'm not fully rotating through with my hips...

I would agree with being careful changing the balance point on that Odyssey... thats part of the design of those types of putters.

As for people with small hands using Jumbo’s... ?

Most likely they are watching what Bryson Deschambeau is doing... uses big grips...

But he is using one plane swing techniques adapted from Moe Norman...

Years ago Myself, the Asst Pro and a couple of our best Juniors from Carman went to see Moe Norman at an exhibition he put on at Breezy Bend....

Amazing display...

We waited around until everyone left... and proceeded to have Moe and just us for close to an hour more...

We asked all sorts of questions... got amazing answers and more demos...

We noticed Moe had Jumbo grips built up more with tape...

We asked him why the big grips...

Moe replied in his high pitched voice “Ohhhh... you gotta take the hands out...gotta take the hands out... take the hands out” replying pedantically like he always did...

Remember it like it was yesterday...

Anyway, if your hands are small... Jumbos are only for those under going instruction from a Natural Golf Swing coach - Moe Norman disciples...

I'm almost certainly overthinking my driving right now (my best drive of the day was a provisional when I just let loose), but oddly the lessons have helped for shoring up my short game and shorter irons right now. Finished with a 91 yesterday, but that was with 16 shots on the last two holes. Gonna try to make it out tomorrow too.

Been there, done that, more or less. Although mine was at Kingswood (for the benefit of the locals) and I shot 11 on the last two holes (par 3, par 4) to shoot 81. Not the kind of double-double any self respecting Canadian wants. This was years ago when I used to golf a fair bit, I couldn't touch that right now.

First round tomorrow, Mars Sandhills. Oughta be worth a chuckle and a couple thousand curses on the side.

Went for a Golftec lesson last minute.

started where I left off last time doing target work with 60 yard type 1/2 swings. . Really noticed if I am hitting the target my hands are in the exact position laid out on @John Agar video. Didn’t think about it but when I was hitting the target the hands were in front of the ball.

Then the crazy part of the lesson was how “active” my feet were and have been. My coach did a great job showing a side by side with Spieth and how quite his feet were and mine were looking like a dance video (come on let’s twist again). My coach told me to pretend I was standing on ice.....I was surprised how positively getting my feet calm impacted my mechanics. Everything came together. I was hitting everything very accurate with a full swing.

Dead calm feet, trust the mechanics, focus on contact, hit the target.

Last two sessions have been gold.

Heading out today
Last round almost a month ago... hard to believe.
I was way right off the tee last game , be interesting to see how it goes today.
I have no expectations so maybe that’s a good thing

A slice or just straight right ? I had a slice problem a few years ago, god i hate a slice, no distance and they always go really far right, into the trees. I started aiming a little right and it seemed to help, go figure.
