A slice or just straight right ? I had a slice problem a few years ago, god i hate a slice, no distance and they always go really far right, into the trees. I started aiming a little right and it seemed to help, go figure.

Ben Hogan... Jack Nicklaus... Tiger Woods...

Played most courses by eliminating the one side... playing to their natural swing tendencies....

Golf Tips: Eliminate One Side of the Course — SunRiver Communities

By the way the article is from Sun River Communities in St. George, Utah...

Beautiful high plateau... surrounded by high red bluffs... absolutely gorgeous...

Played a round of golf in early March with My Father up there years ago...

Beautiful, empty course... 60 deg F or so where we were... bright sunny... up on the high bluffs... snowing cats and dogs...

There are a number of very good courses in the area... all in beautiful settings...

Played this one... Dixie Red Hills...

And this one Sunbrook...

I definitely am planning to go back and play more... fly into Las Vegas...

You can take some time in Vegas... then drive up to the resorts and gamble & golf in Mesquite, Utah...

Then St. George is just a little further up the road...

Lots of other natural things to explore in the area...

One of the most beautiful courses i've played and talk about hilly. Course was very affordable too .

Very nice '31...

Ireland is on My shortlist in My Bucket List...

Irish blood is most of My blood from either side of My family, Mother and Father...

For My Mother's side of the family their is a village that is a historical site where they originated from before Canada... Rathkeal near Limerick....settled by My ancestors the Irish Palatines... want to visit that...

Want to visit small towns, their pubs, drink beer and Irish Whiskey and get to talk with the locals...

And golf...

Thx '31 for a reminder...

I was suppose to golf Ireland last September but it got postponed to this September and my guess is we will still need to move it again.

88 yesterday, can't wait to get my own clubs, hitting the pro's blades are tough. I'm getting a demo set of my clubs tomorrow, i'm going to be really messed up by the time i get my actual clubs.

Ahh golf, such a relaxing sport.

I was watching the The Open Official Film about Tiger's 2005 win yesterday instead of going to bed at a reasonable hour, and those sand traps...

I want to play at a course like that some day. I'm not a great player in the sand, but I feel like it's an experience everyone should have.

Just punch yourself in the head a couple of times really hard. The pain will be similar. Just saying. ;)

Played St.Andrews twice and was in one bunker i could barely get out of backwards. My brother-in-law was in a fairway one and i couldn't even see the top of his head, there were frigging stairs to get in and out.

Finally bit the bullet and went and played a full round of 18... last year I played a number of 9's but no full rounds... mostly practice...

First real round of golf in 18 years...

Was able to get My work/calls done in the morning and over lunch... then headed to Carman Golf Club...

The course was empty... the sun was shining... NW wind in the face to start 8 deg C...

On the first hole I pull draw'ed a 3 wood... ended up on the dry pond edge 120 yards out...into the teeth of the wind... selected an 8...

Next shot went right over the pin to the back just of the green... slippery down hill back, downhill lie... hit it too high up and it squibed... 20 feet to the opposite edge of the green...

3 putted to get in hole... Plus 2 after one... the next I was a bogey so now... 3 over after 2... then bogey bogey and now 5 over overall... I hit really nice shots mostly...

Then I went birdie and 4 pars in a row to finish the front nine 39 strokes... hit irons, 3 wood very well... putted excellent... had 3 legitimate birdie oppurtunities...

The back nine I hit mostly good shots overall, just missed marginally in ways on many holes... 4 bogeys and a double bogey... 41 strokes...

That's an 80 folks... unreal...

I hit only 7 of 15 greens in regulation... but I hit a lot of solid shots... somehow managed to pitch/chip decently and putting very well... only one 3 putt...

Pulled out the driver only 4 times... Hit one amazing drive, one so so... a block and a pull hook... hadn't really practiced with the driver this year ... so happy...

Hit the 3 wood amazing... 6 to SW pretty decent... 1 to 5 not very good... very happy with putting...

17,000 steps... I have a Garmin Approach watch... keeps all these stats, yardage, scorecard, wind, and after 7 rounds - club selection... sped up the round a lot with yardages and green depth front to back...

Something to build on...

It's been an amazing journey back to golf... 18 years ago almost died from the onset of diabetes... it took years to get enough health to perform at a high level in My work... just 2 years ago normal A1C and a return to muscle strength, good bodyweight and regular exercise... got a Social Membership at Southwood last year... practiced like hell and endured the pain of finding golf muscles... a feeling of constant ache and pain for mostly 2 months... then My body started to recover... and I enjoyed the balance of last summer enjoying practice without pain... golfed a few 9's and shot in mid-45 average.

Over the winter took lessons at Golftec... the early good weather this spring gave Me a month head start practicing what I learned at Golftec...

My goal yesterday was to break 90...

I shot 80 on a beautiful sunny day...

:thumbu:

Hah 80 is the dream for me. I usually only play 9 but haven't managed to break 40 yet. 41 last week though. That's hard man. Getting to only a handful over par through 9 means I played really well. Once you get decent at golf you realize how good the pros actually are.

Hitting the new driver pretty good, was on a par 5 yesterday in 2  horrible eagle putt but made birdie. Man are our greens fast right now, like Augusta fast, i like putting on greens like that but man it's tough on the downhill ones.

Happy to read this.

What a beautiful sport it is, hope to play till I'm 90 like my Gramps.

Cheers.

They play an entirely different game.

Total opposite of Mars. Dry, shaggy, slow. Played on Saturday with eye, had a great time but putting was horrible. I've never had that many three putts in my life. Figures, I made a comment about liking my putter and doing well with it, then blargh. Love the course at Mars but the greens just weren't in good shape yet. Opening day, dry winter, to be expected to an extent.

Off the tee or 2nd shot.......or from the back of the green to a front pin? If you don't know the course it's easy to do off the tee, it's only about a 5 iron to get in under 100 yrds. That green is goofy golf if you're above it as well. I was only half kidding.

Laid up off the tee, had 145 or so I thought to the green, hit a perfect 7i, short, I couldn't believe it was short, hit the same clud again, same result, I had to be sure, it was a tin cup moment.

It’s a weird hole. My belief is any par 4 or 5 you have to lay up with an iron off the tee, should be set on fire.

Bridges has a par 5 with a sharp dogleg that i hate, 7 iron off the tee and then 3 wood can't get you anywhere close to the hole , stupid.
