I thought the Sens were wrong to take Sanderson over Drysdale...I think I might be wrong.

Led Americans noticeably in ice-time tonight. Shutdown Cousins handily and whoever came down his side.

Drysdale is still much, much better. Sanderson is good but his ceiling is far too limited in my opinion to warrant a top five selection.

Lol, I appreciate the persistence. Sanderson just stepped up big and led American's defense to win the Gold. Sanderson was just selected ahead of Drysdale a couple months ago and you're out here saying much, much better.

Canada has the most talented players. They never did seem to completely gel as a team. Maybe the line combinations from Tourigny contributed to that.

US played a great game, no need for blame or hand wringing about it. In a single game between relatively evenly matched teams it doesn't always go your way, nothing for Team Canada to be embarrassed of.

No reason for the Canadians to be too down. They had a great tournament. Sometimes you lose, sometimes you win. Our big players showed up today, and Canada's didn't. Thats sport. In times like this, it's important to remember that there are things more important than sport. It was a good distraction for all of us for a few weeks.

Now we all got the NHL to focus on from a hockey perspective in the upcoming months, and hopefully we can have a good season there. Congrats to all teams for a great tournament, and hopefully everyone can remain safe.

Nah it's a winner take all game. The US are really good. No shame in losing, especially when the team lost the probable best player going into the tournament (Dach) and couldn't get permission for either Laf or Power to camp.
Lol usa's best 4 centers weren't didnt go

Instead of talking about how Canada choked maybe MAYBE give credit to the U.S. for EARNING the Gold.
I think the Americans speed caught Canada off guard in the 1st and they had to chase the rest of the game as a result. There's no need to shame the Canadian kids for losing to a great squad.

Ironically I played against a Canadian roller hockey all-star who threw his silver medal after we shitkicked his team. Dave Hammond. Great player, but must be a Canandian thing being sore losers.

Ugh. Just being there playing for your country is one of the highest honors many of these players get in their lifetime. Throwing a medal, it's just poor character - no redeeming factor there.

Pfft, were you watching any of the other games? Our prospects as a whole had a pretty outstanding performance. You are leaning a little hard on young, bottom 6, Byfield.

Is that the excuse for Byfield this time? He was flat out bad, outside of that game against Switzerland.

Kaliyev was also pretty bad

Kudos to the Americans. They played as a team defensively and never waivered even when momentum shifted to Canada throughout the last two periods.

Absolutely no cohesion from Canada though, probably because every shift seemed like a different shuffle of lines. Byram and Drysdale were played too much and were just gassed at the end. I thought Harely had a solid game jumping into the play a few times.

Krebs, Pelletier and Perfetti all didn't play well in my eyes. Way too many turnovers, seemed to kill any pressure we started getting.

At least all the American Kings prospects played really well, looking forward to seeing them in the NHL soon
