And i repeat - let's wait WC and see who is cooler) Canada has better defencemen, but Russia has better goalkeepers, I saw Vasilevsky from WCJ - and i know that he is unbelievable
Canada has much much better defencemen. Unfortunately, Russia stopped producing world-class defencemen years ago

People are actually taking the World Cup seriously??? I mean it will be a higher level of hockey than the WHC, but still a bit of a joke. Then again I guess the olympics is as well.
The only way Russia has better goalies is if Price doesn't play.
I fully expect Canada to win the WC, just not a fan of the young guns shtick.

No, man is right. We have not good defencemen. Gonchar and Zubov - were last top-defencemen. Provorov and Sergachyov - maybe through 3-4 years, but not now. And Russia needs 6 cool defencemen now, this year.
Young stars shtick or team Euros is a rubbish idea.
How about team Ol' Fartz in the WC:

People in Northern America, Northern Europe and Russia want to know, who plays hockey better. Canada think - they are best, Sweden - they are cooler, Finldand thinks - ****' em all, Russian think - Kharlamov sees.
Nine guys on Canada's roster aren't even eligible to play for Canada in the World Cup.
That's half the team that just won the gold medal.
No other proof needed that the WC is a joke.
We'll see more than a few of them on Team NA. Along with a bunch of Americans. While all the European teams have their pick of their young players. Like Finland.

Last year they had Crosby and Seguin. They wouldn't have played if it was a joke tournament

Too young. Three are already hired by Team NA and Schiefele is a lock to join, with Jenner and Domi also possible. Reinhart, Dumba, Matheson also eligible.
In theory, any of those not picked by Team NA would spring back into eligibility for TC, but don't see that happening.
Team canada hardly ever goes with youth anyways. Most of the gold medal team wasn't and wouldn't be on the radar for team Canada at the WC anyways.
It probably hurts team USA way more. Canada normally prefers guys in their prime when they can actually choose out of everyone. With a few exceptions.
Everything you mentioned about the States Canada does better.
You are right they were close in 2010 but they lost, in 2014 they were much worse than US.
The draft picks are nice Canada produces more.
The Junior line is cool, Canada has junior aged guys like Ekblad and McDavid playing at Elite levels in the NHL.
Sure US is improving but you have shown nothing that indicates why they will even be a match for Canada let alone leaving us in their dust.
If you did a Canada/US mixed team the US would be lucky to have 2 skaters on the team and maybe one goalie as a back-up behind Price.

Price blows any of them out of the water and Holtby and Crawford are better than any Russian goalie either.
There are probably another 5-10 Canadian goalies better than the Russian guys as well.
Canada has better forwards, defense, goaltending and coaching than the Russians and anyone debating that is either crazy or a homer.
