Ok how about this?...When's the last time team Russia/ Dats et al. won a Best on Best competition?
Pavel Datsyuk won his last Stanley Cup in 2008

As for what country reigns supreme here is my thought: we should all enjoy the parity we have right now because very soon it will look like the Olympics where the U.S. will take the Gold and everyone else will battle for the rest. The U.S. really are poised to take over and be the best of the best for several years to come. Look what they already have (this team was basically a college team) and wait until this summers NHL Draft. If they lack anywhere it's "top shelf coaching" and they can buy that from Canada.
Hats off to the Boys, have one last get together and head home for summer.
I don't tell about statistics. I tell about skill of play. And for me Datsyuk - is the best.
Dats can all. Absolutely. He is good in defence, he is good in offence. No Ovechkin, no Crosby, no Lemieux - for me = number one. I saw NHL from 1994 year. Only Pavel Datsyuk.

Datsyuk has amazing hands and started late in a less scoring Era but Mario lemieux is in the conversation for top 3 players all time.
Like it or not even if you look fancier the better player still puts up more points.
Nobody cares. And i don't think that this Canada team was weak. Very, very strong team. And who are "best players"? Maybe only keepers you can add. But field players were great.
We had best players: Ovechkin, Dats, Mozyakin, Anisimov, Kuztetsov, Bobrovskiy...Dit it help us?
If Datsyuk was 10-15 years older, he'd be a potential 160 points man in the early 90's NHL

Has Datsyuk even won a scoring title?
You mean a potential 160 points for his career because no way is he scoring 160 points a season in any era.
If you don't know - Datsyuk is very modest human. He never tries to be a star. For this we love him.
What?
The US isn't close to the roster that Canada has now and isn't close to producing the level of young talent that Canada is producing either.
How exactly are they going to blow past everyone when they don't look like they will even pass or get close to Canada?
I don't know. Ask Datsyuk. He is close for you than for me. He always plays for team but never for scoring. He tries to not win?
You don't need to be selfish to get points - assists count.
Why would he outscore Gretzky or Lemieux?

I can't believe how fixed that game was/. McDavid's goal shouldn't have couldn't. Firstly, He bumped Koskinen and secondly, there 3 canadiens in the crease when the goal was scored. How much were the refs paid to look the other way on that??
Let's wait for the final. And I want to see Dats, Ovechkin, Kuztetsov, Anisimov, Tarasenko, Kucherov, Mozyakin, Malkin, Vasilevskiy, Bobrosvkiy,Makarov? Can Canada did so great team?
Do you believe Gretzky and Lemieux played for their numbers and not the team?
I think Datsyuk could hit 130-160 points in the 1980s NHL.
What makes Datsyuk so respected isn't just his offence though, he's excellent on defence. We're going to miss the Magic Man in the NHL.
In the 80s? Sure. Definitely not in the early 90s when it was only Gretzky and Lemieux.

Just imagine Datsyuk as an Edmonton Oiler of the 80s....
