GDT: Gold Medal Game - May 22 - Finland vs Canada - Part II

I think that besides being inferior in skaters, but we also got out coached tonight which is pretty unusual for us. Atleast on big ice..

He was solid back there. His impact defensively was huge the entire tournament.

Happy with the win! Congrats to Finland for making it this far too.

I don't see the big deal. Yeah it sucks if you wanted to represent your European country but it should be competitive hockey and it should win over viewers if it's marketed well.

Do we really want to see Canada, Finland, Russia, the US and Sweden walk over a bunch of comparatively bad teams? This way every game will be competitive.

I was in Toronto for the 2004 World Cup Final between Canada and Finland. It was an exciting game which Canada edged out. Hoping our two nations can meet again in the 2016 Finals. Finland is a great hockey nation with great fans. Much respect.

Once again the Finns punch above their weight class. Makes me want to be an honourary citizen for the day.

Interesting game, nice win. Canada stepped up and finally played a game tactically similar to what it played in the 2014 Olympics and 2015 World Championship. I'm impressed that a team this youthful was able to pull it off. Also very impressed with Scheifele in this game, his line completely controlled Finland's top line. No idea why the Finnish coach didn't try to get his top line away from them. Impressed with Finland for the whole tournament, today just wasn't the day for them. Still solid defensively. Also, good crowds in Russia, seemingly a good job there.

Laughed out loud about Matheson making the media all star team. He was surprisingly good, but he was also on Canada's third pairing. Clueless voters.

Funny power struggle between Fasel and Putin. Also looking forward to seeing caps of Perry and Putin in embrace. Impressive troll count there. I wish that Marchand and maybe Gallagher had been able to join in.

Switzerland is such a walk-over indeed. I will be watching the Olympic qualifiers, hockey that matters, instead of this NHL's plastic-coated garbage.

Who votes for them anyways? Thought their choices were very peculiar considering how other preformed.

I don't think watching a goalie vs a team is exciting hockey but maybe you like one-sided snooze fests that have a scoreboard that looks close.
 
It looks like there are a lot of victims of anti-Russian propaganda among hockey fans. Putin is a good president for Russia, made the country rise from ashes of 1990s.
