The Finnish center has constanly been playing really down low, taking no risks and not joining the rushes right away. KJ has to show some balls in the 3rd and let the offense roll with the expense of more space in front of the own net.

Finns pulling off the old lose in the finals act. We know how to get to the finals but have no idea how to win them. In mens level.

The young guys tend to get beat on in this tourney a bit. It's their first taste of a team full of world class men. It's a learning curve. McD has been limited too.

With Laine you can see the immense skill there. No one expects him to be fully developed at 18.

Didn't stop Eric Lindros from showing up in -93 tournament though.

Yeah I guess you guys don't play three times in four days very often over there. It's routine for the NHLers.

You would be wrong there. Finnish league playoffs were actually criticized this year for exactly that. 3 games in 4 days is rather rare in NHL. Exactly same thing of btb games and then next game after one days rest. Except, in Finland playoffs you have to travel between the back to back games too.

Quite evenly played match up to now, I see Canucks and our Finnish Lions having very good chance to win. Hopefully before victory goal competition though, I don't like that in important games as this.

Interesting to see if the ******** head coach desides to match Pyörälä and Koskiranta against McDavid in the third. It already costed us one goal and KJ has absolutely no reacting skills.

Normal final game for Finland. I dont know why, but almost every final 95 & 11 excluded have been like this. Finnish player look tired, dont play same game that brought them there etc...

I don't get this - we have played rather well, it's 0-1 with a period to go. We have been rather good up till now, but Canada plays much better defence than last time and has not so risky plays in the attack. I thought that everyone would know that we would not control the puck and dominate the game: tight defence, effective finishing has been the recipe for this tournament.

My understanding is he didn't do well in his first very brief NHL stint...BUT he looks like an NHL starter to me...A Good BIG Goalie beats a Good Little Goalie most of the time...

Well yeah the numbers doesn't look that good. But he's way better today than in those days. He would be a fine NHL goalie. Kings actually tried to get him to replace Enroth but he decided to stay in Russia and play more games.

Quick-Koskinen would make a super duo or just one elite goalie and a flop.

Looks like Finland is satisfied with the Silver Medal they won yesterday against Russia. They have nothing at all today, and only great goaltending is keeping the score close. The Finnish defense looks very close to a total collapse, and there doesn't seem to be enough offense to even the score at 1-1. Too bad, it seems to me that Finland is a better team than what they will be remembered for in this tournament.

Well, in all honesty, if they "own us", shouldn't they lead like 4-0 or something? Pretty much a similar game as last time, except we have not been so good in the attacks and Canada plays more cautiously and better defensively than last time. I did not expect that we would control the game - did you?

Well last game everything changed in second period, I cant see any signs of that now. Like a earlier post, we look tired..and no excepted that Canada would have the puck more, but not that they could control every element of the game this well..they play like from a scool book

Are you like jinxing? I just don't get this pessism - we are very much in the game with 20 mins to go, and every Finn here seems to think it's like 9-1 with 45 seconds left...

Didn't stop Eric Lindros from showing up in -93 tournament though.

Lindros might have been a nit of a physical outlier though, don't you think?

Can't expect many kids to be that physically advanced at that age.

He was a force of nature.

I know it a funny joke to say that Laine is Lemieux etc., but no-one expects Laine to be like Lindros. Not even McDavid will ever be as good as prime Lindros.

Do they now? I guess the book forgot the scoring part...

agree, Duchene looks pretty good out there, most of canadians tho. Great game from Canada, they deserve Gold.

Canada never deserves anything. Gritty play can get them the gold, but I don't get why they would automagically deserve anything.
