Koskinen (Finland) is a heckuva tendy. Big body that 'plays' big with strong positional play and compact movement. Some issues with the scramble in tight - tends to sprawl (probably just due to size; tough to recover the edge quickly at the end of those long legs) - but he is a cool customer back there. Great net presence.

You would be wrong there. Finnish league playoffs were actually criticized this year for exactly that. 3 games in 4 days is rather rare in NHL. Exactly same thing of btb games and then next game after one days rest. Except, in Finland playoffs you have to travel between the back to back games too.

No it is not...

Laine defensive zone coverage... would make people in OTP proud...

Kid has 229339 turnovers in him and no neutral-zone ability....

Jets should draft the better finn.

What do you expect from an offensive minded shooter who just turned 18 going up against NHL regulars/stars. He's just not fast enough yet, which activates the panic button and results in all kinds of mistakes.

Canada is playing like they should. This is like the Leafs going up against the Hawks in a game that the Hawks want to win.

How the score is still just one-nil I don't know. A massive game from the Canadians.

My god, is this something Mertaranta is saying? Seems to be a universal feeling that we are like nothing in this game, whereas it seems to be, we have played well - how many true scoring chances Canada has got? And how many bad or blocked shots? They clearly have dominated, but nothing has been decided yet.

My goodness, how much of a work horse has Rielly been, he's really elevated his game it looks like after a Leafs season that did not matter.

When Canada plays up to how good their roster is this is what happens. It's not that Finland is playing poor it's just how great Canada is playing

Potentially 25 minutes for Rielly is quite a lot in this tournament isn't it? Thought I remember hearing them saying that it's usually around 20 minutes for the defense this tournament.

I don't get this - we have played rather well, it's 0-1 with a period to go. We have been rather good up till now, but Canada plays much better defence than last time and has not so risky plays in the attack. I thought that everyone would know that we would not control the puck and dominate the game: tight defence, effective finishing has been the recipe for this tournament.

Sometimes it does not have to come in our way...but still 20 min to go..

So third period starts off like the second ended. Canada is superior team by and far.

If Finland loses, the blame is in the veterans, who still have that burden of history. :/

How long will it take before Jalonen starts playing top6 more or will it happen at all?
