Very even period despite the shot disparity. Russia just has too much skill, Canada will need more from their big guns, or this is gonna turn in to another Russian comeback story.

Loving the Oilers with Crosby, but the warts in their game showed pretty clearly that first period. Hall skating hard on the backcheck, but then... Skating right passed his mark? Why? Eberle with lot of time a space... Dangerous drop pass at the blueline? Why?

Hopefully this experience, and some good coaching will help them work that out of their game, because it's obvious they are right there on the cusp of dominance.

I did notice that both Hall and Eberle blindly pass the puck in the offensive zone.....whereas a lot of other stars will cycle it back along the boards instead.

It has led to so turnovers that could cost them at some point.
 
hamhuis is such a steady player, has the guy had one bad shift this entire tournament?
