Sure and your point is? I am really not excusing anything so take it cool.

I'm not trying to be insulting, I legitimately mean it. Sweden was great in 2014. The Olympics award 3 medals and Gold isn't the only prize. Sweden represented their country well, and won a Silver medal for them. When the dust settles I'm sure they will be proud of how they represented their country. Imo they were easily the 2nd best team despite some crucial players being out of the lineup for them.

Man I get a chill at how focused SC looks there.

2010 was very exciting because of the location and the manner we won... but 2014 team was just flat-out dominant.

Not sure as it was only a brief visual, but it looked like Babcock was wearing a medal during the closing ceremonies... maybe they do get one too?

No, the coaches do not get medals. Hockey Canada gives them championship rings. Maybe Babcock pulled a Tikhonov and stole the medal from Mike Smith. :sarcasm:

Ok and thanks for the good attitude. Message boards as entity is the devil's invention. Anything is taken in the worst possible way all the time.

Canada proved, without any doubt, that it is the one and only hockey super power. After this, anything other than Canada winning olympic gold can be considered an upset. In the next tournament, assuming NHL participates, it will be Canada as the favorite, USA, Sweden, Russia as the challengers and then Czechs, Finland, Slovakia and Swiss as the dark horses.

Amazing tournament by Canada.

Apparently they will put Toews game winning goal celebration on a Canadian Stamp #EatitFoppa ;)

I was way more nervous for the US game than I was for the Gold medal game. I certainly wasn't underestimating the Swedes but I just felt there was no way we were losing this game.

Nothing to say except congratz to Canada. Sweden stopped skating and got sloppy after the first goal. No matter the excuses before the game, it's not an excuse to not fight till the end without heart. Till the next time, eh? ;)

How am I going to go from watching Team Canada to watching the Edmonton Oilers? How?

Me neither. Classy nation with classy people and players. They're my 2nd favourite hockey nation, I love how they play the game, and as my avatar suggests, Henrik Sedin is my favourite NHL player.

Having them along with Canada in the gold medal game was a dream final for me.

Agree with the rest of this but for the bolded your Edmontonian citizenship is revoked. Please proceed to the nearest Tim Hortons to hand it in.

Now that's just being arrogant, IMO. Latvia hung with Canada for god-sakes.

But with that said, congrats to Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz, and team Canada as well as team Sweden for getting the Silver while dealing with many injuries.

Erik Karlsson, on what the silver medal is worth to him (via Olympic News): "You will see when I put it out on eBay.

:amazed:

Dany Heatley once said that when you initially play for a bronze medal game or get a silver medal, you don't care. 10 years later when you look back, you see the importance of the medal.

Once EK gets over this, he will cherish it.

Uggggh. You just had to remind me didnt you? Like dating a supermodel for a couple weeks and then getting passed off to her Grandma
