Geno Rada tweeted this pic, Canada's busiest highway during the Olympic hockey final!

Wow.. Pretty much sums up Canadian passion for the game. Nice to see.. kinda makes me proud in a weird way.

Not to be a party pooper or anything, but Montreal's 40 is always pretty tight with traffic but rarely on a Sunday morning at 8 in the Winter... honestly. The ''busiest'' highway in Canada had no cars on a Sunday morning... big deal. Did Reda expect there to be a boatload of cars or something? I don't get it. Even moreso if Canada's playing for Gold.. This isn't a Wednesday morning with everyone rushing to get to work.

calm yourself. It's a joke.

Though it's still very rare to see that stretch of the 401 car-free, ever.

I guess you don't get out this way very often. Anytime is a bad time to be on the 401 anywhere near Toronto. At 4 in the morning it's still pretty busy just not stop and go.

Eh, you should still see something Sunday @ 8. But yeah it isn't impressive as a mid week rush hour.

The 401 is actually the busiest highway in all of North America.

You've never driven the 401 on a Sunday morning have you? Lighten up sport, it's just an observation about what is ALWAYS a busy highway.

The 401 is busy 24/7 so it's definitely something. It's actually the busiest highway not only Canada but NA too.

The hardtotrashtalkSweden hashtag is the best thing on Twitter right now.

Proud to be Canadian.

Congrats to Canada, best team by far and you really deserved the win. Backstrom or not, Canada would've won anyway. Had Sweden with it's lesser depth than Canada not being heavy depleted by injuries we would have put up a better fight. But Canada would still have been the clear favorites.
It's scary for other nations to think that Canada's potential team for 2018 looks just as good!!

Glad some of this animosity between Swedish and Canadian fans can die down now.
I can never build up any hate towards Sweden. I grew up 8 rows off the ice watching Anders Hedberg and Ulf Nilsson with Bobby Hull in the WHA days. Those two were awesome to watch and brought a different (and better) game to North America.

the 401 though.

Hockey is a team game, when countries like Russia realize that they too may find success!

Russian Hockey has been poisoned by the money their stars now make. Back when they were in the army they came at you like well programmed robots.

I feel bad for Ovechkin, the other Russians seem to be mailing it in.

Me neither. Classy nation with classy people and players. They're my 2nd favourite hockey nation, I love how they play the game, and as my avatar suggests, Henrik Sedin is my favourite NHL player.

Having them along with Canada in the gold medal game was a dream final for me.

Yes they did; they were great players, and hockey is much the better game for what has been brought to it by Europe and the U.S.

Even if Canada's injured players are better than Sweden's it would've been a much tighter game if everyone was healthy. Canada's insane depth makes it hard for a couple of injuries to hurt a 25 man squad that much.

Stamkos and Tavares > Their replacements

H. Sedin, Zetterberg and Bäckström >>> Their replacements

Also didn't help that coach suck-lose brought Oduya and Ericsson on the team instead of Hedman and Brodin. Can't believe we actually prolonged that idiot's contract.

Injuries definitely benefited Canada, there is no question with the depth they have
