So Canada has more hockey depth then. It's just another reason we won gold. If a team can't handle a couple injuries they don't deserve to win.

I'm not trying to be a ***** but I hate when people use injuries as an excuse. They happen to everyone. Better teams get the job done in spite of it.
Canadians use this excuse all the time. if you can't understand that small countries will be more affected by absences, I don't know what else to say.

Great game, here's the summary

1st period
12:55 CANADA J. TOEWS (EARLY RISING PARENTS, BACKYARD RINK BUILDERS, TIRELESS FUND RAISERS, COACHES & TRAINERS, PREGAME MEAL-MAKERS, KINDLY BUSINESS SPONSORS, TRUSTY CARPOOLERS, PLAY-BY-PLAY ANNOUNCERS, CROWD IGNITERS, STATISTICIANS, ORGAN PLAYERS, INSPIRATIONAL SIGN-MAKERS, GRANDPARENTS, SCOUTS, SKATE-SHARPENERS, PHONE-FINGER FANATICS)

2nd period
15:43 CANADA S. CROSBY (UNASSISTED)

3rd period
9:04 CANADA C. KUNITZ (UNASSISTED)

Gold

That was as dominant a game as you'll see by Canada. The only reason the score was only 3-0 is because Sweden is fortunate to have the best goaltender in the world tending the net for them.

It was a fantastic tournament for Sweden and even a great start to this game, but Canada just defeated them in every area and wore them down as the game went on.

Now, back to the NHL.

Always nice to see the classy finnish vulture-posters when Sweden ends up on the short end in the finals. Yeah, Sweden wasn't the best team of the tournament, but they were consistant.

I have nothing against Swedish hockey at all, but it was the truth in my first post, non of the swedish games, they played good hockey, except first 20 against the czech.. your special teams was pretty good though, thats maybe why u got this far

Okay everyone that stayed up all night, couldn't sleep because they were so excited can now keep drinking before they pass out!!!

Listen here. The situation for team Sweden has nothing, I repeat, absolutely nothing to do with Canada. Even though it seems impossible for some of you to realize the sun does not revolve around Canada, that is the case.

If we say "it really sucks we missed so many key players", the automatic response is, "well duh, so did Canada". Where the **** does Canada come into the picture regarding the situation for Sweden? Nowhere. So get off your high horses and let us lick our wounds of "could've, should've" in peace.

The whole point is that it seems you are using that as an excuse for losing. Would you accept it if Canada had have lost and we said "well of course we lost, we were missing Stammer and Tavares. Good job beating an injury riddled Team, Sweden"

It should have been Canada against

Selanne - Malkin - Ovechkin
Sedin - Datsyuk - Kessel
Oshie - Kopitar - Parise
Granlund - Backstrom - Kovalchuk

Karlsson - Kronwall
Suter - McDonagh
Markov - Carlson

Rask
Quick
Lundqvist

In the finals or any other all star team made with all the other teams

This is like saying, "Chris Pronger is only great because he's so tall!"

Well... yea, that's part of what makes him great. Shorter players don't have that advantage. That height doesn't count against him, though.

Canada has amazing depth. Yes. That's what makes them so great. Other countries don't have that.

The point of the Olympics is not to produce a level playing field. It's to find out who the best is. Canada is the best because of that depth.

Sweden brings a D man like Johnny Oduya who probably couldn't make a Team Canada3 or Team USA2 and some actually think Sweden was a serious threat to win Gold.

Actual ranking of the top 4 teams in the Olympic tournament should be;

Canada

Finland

USA

Sweden

Sure, but it's a joke when people say "oh well you wouldn't understand because you have superstars to replace superstars".. It's pretty funny to have depth held against you. Some people will say we didn't beat the best Swede squad, but guess what, that wasn't the best Canadian squad, it swings both ways.. Excuses don't look good on anybody.. Congrats to them though they had a fantastic tourny after being hurt by injuries.

Pk touches Crosby a lot. Any excuse he touches him, or stands close to him.

Just look at the team picture. Scopes Crosby out to be close to him.

Talks about the Gold medal winning goal, talks about being with Crosby.

I had to do this...

After Spain won the World Cup, I remember reading (paraphrasing): Their game was so perfect that it was boring.

Feel like the same applies to the Canadians overall. They might not have been high-scoring games, but have to appreciate the finer points and the domination where it counts.

Congratulation and thank you for the hockey lesson Canada. Well deserved. Better on everything and this is a silver medal I am proud to have won seeing as there was nothing golden other then the jersey with team Sweden, who have had a good tournament. No bashing on them, they did their best but against the best it was not good enough.
