Can't find it but in one of the Monday Mailbags on Canucks.com Podkolzin said he calls Miller "Dad" then shouted "Dad!" across the room and got an immediate "SON!" in response.
He's a respectable dad too - it's not like those Eriksson-style dads that are just old and you're already better than - Millerdad can still take over a game when he wants to but he's sometimes grumpy and tired from working all day and just wants to chill on the couch.

Mikheyev looked really good tonight - I wonder when Lindholm comes back if we can roll a shutdown 3rd line

Hoglander - Pettersson - Boeser
Joshua - Miller - Garland
Mikheyev - Lindholm - Lafferty
Suter - Bleuger - Podkolzin/Aman

Love the way we played tonight, Vegas is a big team but I thought we one-upped them on physical plays. Nice to see the PP coming back to life, Petterson and Garland are the last 2 players I expected to play net front but it's working so far.

Good win, hope it's the start of a good roll.

Also happy for Boeser hitting 40.

I see a lot of love for Silovs and I agree he had good moments this game, but every goal he let in could've been stopped with a bit better goaltending. Which is good for his future potential but I'd temper expectations if he ends up getting starts over DeSmith.

That game was electric for me. PP came to life, we took it to them all over at ES, killed off some more of the usual weak sauce BS calls the refs have been giving us, and hit a ton of milestone markers tonight to boot. Feels so good.

And those Garland shirts should absolutely be for sale. Would 100% buy one of those over those “Clinched” t-shirts.

Mik has "little things" vibe all over him... he gets to the right places and does the right thing so often, but when he tries to shoot the puck he does it from a sharp angle with like a 5% chance to even create a good rebound, let alone go in.

Tocchet sounds awful in the post game presser, I wonder if the team is battling some kind of flu bug or something.

I feel a win coming here. I think the Canucks will have some motivation to come out hard after how the last game against Vegas went, but also how the game against LA went.

Actually thought our PP looked dangerous against LA and generated some quality chances - Talbot had a strong game for LA. If our PP can keep generating chances like that, we’ll break through. Hope to see more of that in this game.

Nice that one of my good feelings was right for a change!

So good that the PP finally came to life.

One thing I noticed was that the powerplay completely moved away from forcing a bumper pass and shot. There wasn’t even a player in the bumper for more than like 5 seconds. It seemed like it caught Vegas a bit who very likely prescouted our PP. We sent Petey to the net and Garland to the net and it created 2 goals for.

Also, gotta give Silovs his flowers. Could have been a long night after 2 goals on 2 shots (and the first wasn’t pretty), but he settled in and did a really nice job after that. For him to come up and give us 3 wins - including one against Vegas - is huge.

Hope he’s ready to push for the backup spot next fall.

Garland going from potentially getting traded / welcoming a trade, to the arena chanting his name 4 games before the playoffs. I’m not crying you’re crying
This was amazing.

Garland played balls out from the beginning of the season even though there was a lot of weird vibes and trade innuendo surrounding him.

Add to that being a center piece of "the trade that shall not be mentioned" you can't not be impressed by his focus and professionalism.

Maybe he wanted out of Van, maybe Van wanted him to be gone but that is all in the past.

Legends are born in Vancouver not because they win, but because they FIGHT. (plus, if you want a career in radio/television, this market will support you) ((Not you Kesler or Messier!! You die in a fire))

Fight for this team, bleed for this team, show that you believe in this team and you are a hero forever.
