At this point I don’t believe EP is injured…not sure what kind of injury would make you this ineffective and not keep you out of the lineup, and never seems to heal. He’s either damaged goods or just mentally checked out…either way time to move on, he’s not doing us a lot of good…this is not what $11.6m should be buying us.

Hes waiting for his NTC to kick in so he can choose his destination is my guess... shitty part is he has TANKED his value.

Bro has 7 points in his last 19 games.

The thing that pisses me off the most is that we had all the means to upgrade our defense like this at the start of the season.

Call up D-Petey.
Trade our 1st for Marcus Petey.

Easy p̶e̶a̶s̶y̶ Petey.
I’d like to think the extra development time and the fact that Pitts weren’t ready to sell yet played a part.

But if we’re playing fantasy land, imagine if this did happen AND we traded Petey for Necas and kept Miller?

It's pretty clear now that Miller had to go regardless for off ice reasons.

I do think Pettersson bounces back into scoring 80+ points a season. Unfortunately, just not here. Whether it’s usage, coaching style, noise, or linemates, he just doesn’t click with anyone.

If Buffalo: Cozens + Peterka
If CBJ: KJ + Sillinger

Really wish we had waited until the end of the season to negotiate Petey's new contract, as he had apparently preferred. I wouldn't have gone a hair over 10M after his post-ASG play.

Pettersson for Necas, Kotkaniemi, Morrow and a 1st rounder last season would've altered the trajectory of this entire franchise.

We beat the Oilers, for one.

And this season Necas went supernova this season while playing on the second line in Carolina, imagine lining him up with Miller? They'd be unstoppable.

Our defensive core would be set for the next decade with Hughes, Hronek, M-Petey, D-Petey, Morrow and Willander --- but without sacrificing our offense.

Wow, while they're still in the honeymoon phase you HAVE to question Toch's system when the new guys are having so much more success not dumping and chasing. There were obvious moments in that period when Joshua, Petey, and Blueger all dumped it when they had room to skate.

Overall, many positives. The D looks much, much better even without Hughes. Good on Toch for making the line adjustment putting Boeser with Chytil, but I'm not convinced this system works for us anymore.
Tocchet is a great human being but is a horrible coach with a horrible system. I hate cycling coaches all the time but it's clear his system just ain't it. New players are proof of that.

He sucks rn but there’s no way this is true.

The smarter play would be to play hard UNTIL then to ensure you don’t get sent somewhere you don’t want to go.
