Post-Game Talk: [GM49] Canucks defeat Blues | 5-2 | Garland(2), Miller, Suter, & Myers | Prymer Myers

OK I had it in my head Forbort broke his leg sliding into the end boards earlier in his career when he was with the Kings, but can't seem to find anything about it.

Am I dreaming? Who am I thinking of that had the broken femur?

Edit: nm figured it out, it was Fedun

Ice time is bonkers right now. Tocchet has basically been using Suter as his 1C and playing Pettersson and Miller 15-16 mins per night.

Also Forbort played over 21 mins, same ice time as Hronek.
That’s not sustainable, but that’s Tocchet system.

Two solid efforts in a row against two good teams. Man, I want to believe in this team again. Hope they can keep it up.

Lankinen continues to be a beast. Hughes is just on another planet. Anyone still going “lol Makar for Norris” is out to lunch. Hughes should be collecting that in a walk along with the Hart.

Nice to see everyone else pull on the rope again. Keep it up into Nashville.

Game where a few players carried us. Such a contrast between those contributing and those contributing virtually nothing. Nice win, but if you continue to have so much baggage, team is ultimately going no where.

Good

Garland - if you could transplant just some of Garland's heart into someone like Pettersson might have hell of hockey player. Always contirbutes in every zone and did in this game. One of the most underrated players in the League

Hughes - Hughes illustrated his passing ability in this game. Like every other part of his game - superb.

Myers - rest did him some good. Had an outstanding game. Team is absolutly better with him on it. (+3 in this game and deserved the praise he got.)

Suter - been one of their best players lately. Another good effort both ways and especially on the PK which was critical. Is playing a good bit better than Pettersson. Another player having a +3 in this game

Forbert - got to eat some crow here. Never thought Forbert would be as steady as he has been of late. Keep waiting for him to blow up but, as of now, looking improved

Lankanin - as he has done most of the season, his work kept the team from breaking down. No question he is above Demko in the pecking order. He will be the biggest determining factor in having the team make or miss the playoffs.

Miller - play remains disjointed but nice goal and moved the puck better. Certainly not peak Miller, but helped the team tonight.

Poor

Heinen - PDG is a better player. Sasson likely a better player. Blais might be a better player. So lazy in transition and so useless offensively Sometime, I wonder, if he might just flat out fall asleep on the bench.

Soucy - awful season continues.

Hoglander - his positioning defensively is dreadful. You wonder if he was ever asked to learn defense in Sweden. Probably, growing up, he scored enough to make people not care what he did in his end. No doubt, just seagulled for goals. But now, he is not talented enough offensively to compensate for the lack of ability in transition or in his end.

Karlsson - couldn't stay in the play in this game. Playing with lack luster Pettersson didn't help much.

DeBrush - defines the term "passenger". St. Louis has some size and they just rubbed DeB out of the play with little problem. If he isn't scoring, isn't any good. Might be the Canucks made a blunder bringing him in and letting someone like Zadorov go. Last year, we had a good defense aided by a good forecheck and strong defense from the forwards. Now we have weak defensive forwards (see Heinen and Debrusk) who can go very dry offensively.

Win was important and you would like to be more positive. But there conntinues to be so many holes in the line up.

You mean 1 good team. Since when are the Blues a good team? They have an worse record than us, not even one close to PPG player and their best player is Kyrou. Even in our current state we should beat them most of the time. We should beat the Preds and if we beat Dallas then you can say that we are back on track.

Forbort probably because of the Pk

Unbeaten with D-Petey in the lineup... or is it just no Juulsen and VD?
Anything to keep those two f***ers off the team
