This one, that says consulted,

and Claire’s tweet also sounds like PD making call not Andlauer.
Yes they can consult as Bettman said, (might have said indirectly)
final say is the team.

And this will be the last chance for this group to get to the playoffs and make some noise. Easy first round exit doesn’t do it.

It sounds more like Andlauer giving Dorion permission to make said call after being consulted, which that quote again implies direct consultation, not necessarily through the board.

That's what I was saying. I didn't mean that Andlauer is making coaching hires (or the opposite in this case), but that he's already the godfather being consulted and deciding who is empowered to make decisions, which is Dorion in this case. Andlauer could have just as easily said he wanted Dorion to look outside and move on.
Andlauer met with Dorion during his last visit here with the Mayor ...

DJ is on his last year. Andlauer would have to pay it anyway.

so let Dorion make any statement. Once Andlauer takes over, he can easily revisit any decision.

I swear, if I have to see another season where we're 5+ games under .500 a month into the season, I'm going to snap.

Dorion better be praying that this team gets it together because if we stumble out of the gate again, he should be hitting the road too.

Ya don’t think Andlauer will wait for the season to be finished before making changes if this team isn’t looking good out the gate.

This is the first time Dorion has to worry about his job security in his tenure which is crazy

I'm fine with DJ getting another shot but there better be a strong plan for if we have another bad start and he gets fired early on.

Hard to imagine Dorion has a contingency unfortunately and if he does have one, we can be sure it will be a bargain bin variety.

Yes, saw that one too. I always thought it would be this way but a lot of people adamantly denied he would basically be in charge already.

I doubt DJ's low salary is much of a factor here for why he's kept. It's probably equivalent to their lowest salaried player. I think as you say, it's okay guys, here's one last shot.

If they miss, both will be gone imo, but they're getting their crack at it.

go ahead, make a DJ is safe statement. It ends debate
go ahead, make it look like you are in charge. It ends debate

I will/can over-ride or leave alone in September.

Calm the waters now, otherwise you risk hurting the business and other matters. This is a time for CALM. The less news the better. The Sens need to enter a period anonymity. These 2 months are it.

this team has spent 16 years in the news.. now they need to spend 16 weeks out of it.

yes, then in 5 years time. Brady T will be 27. He will be comming up on year 8. And he will look back and see a career that should have been at 10 M per year, be at 8.25.

Will he be okay with it?

Will he want to make up the difference? will he now ask the Sens for another 8 x X where X is a number that reflects his play at the time and the extra 1.75 million he left behind. Now what?

What happens when he comes to his senses and starts stirring by year 6 of the deal.. Looks to recoup some cash, by asking for a trade to a tax free state!!! year 6 is in 3 years.

Ditto for Tim.

I am waiting on Leon Draisaitl.. he is coming up ...next year. Will he ask for 8 x 13? ..11 as his worth and 2 for lost salary. And be 29 when that contract kicks in.

Both Brady and Tim chose to sign their contracts, they were not held at gunpoint…. So to suggest they will, in hindsight, be upset that they left money on the table, and not take personal responsibility is stretch in speculation, but if they are upset, the first thing they should do is fire their agents.

I see both players as having level heads, and see the team first, over personal gain.

They are closer to Alfredsson than they are to Yashin.

Bwahahaha at everyone that thought Andlauer was going to fire Dorion and DJ as his first order of business.

I suspect that if by American thanksgiving or even a week earlier, and we see the same Senators record as the last two (Starts to the ) Season…. PD will fire DJS.

Tim Stutzle has yet to collect a dime on his new Salary.

90 points, 78 games is ~ 95 points in 82 games..

95 points was 14th in scoring last year. His 8.3 M is as of today ~ 51st in league.. by start of 2023/2024, will most likely be in the 60's.

By end of contract, if he remains a 95 +-5 point man, he will be in the top 20 in scoring and end with his contract worth being around 150th or so.

I am waiting for the lights to go on in the Stutzle house hold.

Ditto for Brady.

Cope and seethe.
I hoped he got rid of them but I didn't think doing so made any sense with the timeline.

I know you struggle with reading comprehension and with critical thinking, being a reactionary, but you should try to follow along and keep track of who is who and their positions.

You can do it. You'll struggle but I have faith you have the means, now show me you have the ability.

I'm assuming it will be a short leash going into the season. If the team sputters to start the year again, Andlaeur will not hesitate to replace both. I'm guessing there will be POHO in place before the season starts as well.
