Sign C John Madden to a 2 year contract.

Madden will slot into our 3rd line with Curtis Glencross and David Moss, although a spot on that line will be contested by Greg Nemisz in training camp as well.

Here is where I ask the advice of my fellow GM's.

Do I spend approx. 1.6 M on a forward upgrade for my bottom six

Glencross-Madden-Moss
Dawes-Neidermayer-Byers

or on my bottom pairing?

Blues Ink Milan Jurcina To 2 Year Deal
610x-23.jpg

Jurcina inks a 2 year deal with the St. Louis which will help solidify the Blues defense.

The St. Louis Blues have brought in defensemen Milan Jurcina to help solidify their defense.

"We are pleased to add Milan to our organization." Randall Ritchey said.

"Milan is a big physical defensemen who can play in both a higher paced and a shut down roll. For a big man, he's got good wheels and is a smart hockey player. We will look to pair him with Mike Weaver to have a very solid shut down pairing. This will likely bump Tyson Strachan down to Peoria but is likely to be up and down through out the year."

Juricina will make 1.7M per year for the next two years on his new contract with St. Louis.

Toront brings back D-man Carlo Colaiacovo, signed the free agent to a 2yr deal worth 1.25M per season.

"Carlo stepped it up when given the chance in STL, and we feel he'd be a good fit for our D core, at what is compared to other UFA defensemen a great price"

The Ottawa Senators have another trade to announce today. The club has dealt defenseman Filip Kuba to the New York Islanders in exchange for Corey Trivino and a 2011 3rd round draft pick.

"We wish Filip all the best in New York. On the other hand, we are excited to add Corey to our prospect stable

RR, congrats on your team man. I'm assuming you are pretty happy right about now?

Going to a big party at the Arena tonight. Playoffs are clinched; it's a sellout; Lanche are in town; and Jovo probably has a greeting to send to Peter Mueller tonight. Little **** admitted he quit on this team, didn't go over too well with his Phoenix teammates.

Sign Raffi Torres to a 1 year 1.4M dollar contract.

We feel this is great value for a 20 goal 3rd line guy like Raffi who can play a great offensive and defensive game. Torres-Madden-Moss will be a great 3rd line in Calgary, and it allows Glencross to stabalize out 4th line a little more.
