Oilers trade O'Sullivan to the Red Wings!
:wings Patrick O'Sullivan
:edmonton Darren Helm

Confirmed.

Red Wings acquire O'Sullivan from Edmonton; ship Helm to the Oilers

The Detroit Red Wings have announced the acquisition of former first round pick forward Patrick O'Sullivan, in exchange for forward Darren Helm.

"Patrick O'Sullivan has untapped potential, that we believe he can realize as a member of the Detroit Red Wings." Red Wings GM TribalPhoenix stated in a conference call announcing the deal.

"While Darren has been a good contributor for our club, we feel that a deal for Patrick was beneficial for our club. He brings a big body and top six scoring ability on the wing that we feel will only compliment the depth of our club. Playing with centremen such as Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg will only help him learn the game at the NHL level, and his versatility to play the centre ice position as well gives us additional depth in case of injury. We're grateful to Darren for his contributions, and wish him nothing but success in Edmonton."

Columbus BlueJackets pleased with their 2010 NHL entry draft

9th overall - Brett Connolly
connolly.jpg

"We are very pleased to have drafted Connolly with the 9th overall pick. We feel he is the 5th best player in this draft. We aren't concerned about his injuries and we believe he will be an all-star winger for our team for a long, long time."

18th overall - Ryan Johansen
ryan-johansenjpg-5905878b3967f586.jpg

"We think we found a real gem with Ryan Johansen. We had him ranked in our top-10. He put up a point per game pace as a rookie in the WHL this year. He has great size(6'3) and he has room to fill out. He's a great stick-handler and passer and we expect him to be a Jason Spezza type player."

33rd overall - Stanislav Galiev
galiev.jpg

"Galiev is a player we would have been happy picking with the 18th overall pick. He's tremendously talented and has shown that he's willing to play in North America. He's has great skills with the puck and he still has some room to get stronger."

56th overall - Jordan Weal
article_28528_2.jpg

"Jordan is an under-sized player, but he has great speed, skills and vision. He's a tremendous passer, and he did benefit from having Eberle on his team, we think he'll be able to produce next year without Eberle. The size doesn't bother us because Weal is quick and he works hard. He put up over 100 points in the WHL this year."

We honestly believe we had the best draft we could possibly have. Even though I love Cam Fowler, getting Connolly and Johansen is even better.

Nice draft Bingo.

Anyways, the Sens are proud to add Nick Bjugstad to their prospect stable, and we believe that he will gradually develop into a top-six forward for our club.

We are still to looking to swap Jared Cowen for a forward prospect of equal value.

In the 2010 draft with the 8th overall pick, the Minnesota Wild took Nino Niederreiter.

"We felt that he was a great player and could fit on to our team in the future" said GM Iginla12

Deal to annouce

To :ducks
NJD 1st 2011
ATL 2nd 2010
Brian Rolston
Jacob Josefson
3rd 2010
Nick Palmieri

To :devils
Philly's 1st 2010 (21st overall)
Ana 3rd 2010
Bobby Bolt

The Ducks are thrilled with this deal. We get an elite prospect in Jacob Josefson who will be our futur 2nd line center. Another good prospect in Nick Palmieri who is greatly overrated on HF. He has an NHL caliber shot and will be a 20 goal scorer. Also we get some good picks and some veteran leadership of Brian Rolston

Our lineup next year

Beleskey - Getzlaf - Perry
Ryan - Josefson - Selanne (pending his retirment)
Rolston - Marchant - Lupel
Sexton - Carter - Brodie
Blake

Visnosky - Sbisa
Wizniski - Eminger
Brookbank - Festerling

Hiller

We are still looking to make some moves, we want to acquire a legit heavy weight instead of Parros
Looking for a top 4 dman
Looking to acquire a 3rd line center

My whole bottom 6 foward group is available

Our prospect pool is one of the best in the league as well

it was sent in last night, just had to wait on IR4 to get back to us on Rolston's NTC. He said it was fine this morning, but this is the 1st time I and i presume the NJ GM has been online today so thats why it was just annouced. The draft thread was adjust to include the deal this morning

Can't see how that was confirmed by the commissioners, the 2010 draft has already taken place.

I'm sure the trade is fine. Rolston's NTC is basically a formality anyway. But giving up the first AND Palmieri AND Josefson? Ugh.
