20 seconds left, delayed offside then no one even attacks the puck and just lets them play keepaway

what am i watching honestly

The issue is the hard cap. I don't know what kind of magic people expect. Nobody is giving up the next franchise player to build around for Carter, Toffoli, Pearson, Muzzin, or Martinez. Even combined in one deal. As long as they keep their own picks, that's the best way to go long term. If there's a deal they cannot turn down, by all means they should do it, but it can't be expected. If this is Carter from here on out, nobody needs that contract for the next 3 years after this one.

This will be a slow process. Nobody is going to save the Kings.
The issue isn't the hard cap, it's the retirement contracts handed out to these players.

You are correct on Carter, which is why he should have been moved at least two years ago. This team wasn't contending with him, they could have not contended without him.

"the bounces did not go the way of the kings tonight"

yeah those f***in bounces

totally the difference here tonight

nevermind the goal getting waved off purely by luck that the period expired en route

Quick may as well be shut down for a while. He obviously is not back to full health yet. Needs to get healthy, work on getting his game back, then the Kings need to hope a goalie goes down on a contending team right before the trade deadline.

•John Stevens gets fired
•Two of Muzzin/Martinez/Pearson get traded (for futures preferably) before the deadline
•Top 10 pick
•Kupari tears it up in the Liiga
•Gabe Vilardi finds a decent chiropractor

These are all things that need to happen at this point to keep me sane

I commend those of you who watched the entire 60 minutes.

I never said someone would trade us the next franchise player for Carter. But he would likely fetch a 1st Round pick and nice prospect.

We need to facilitate the tank at this point. Even if that means selling players like Carter, Toffoli, etc. for pennies on the dollar, that's what we need to do. They're not worth anything to LA right now, anyway. This team is going nowhere.

It's a monumentally bad idea to simply stand pat, not trade our picks, and continue to suck. Because they likely put together some win streaks at some point this year, which hurts our draft position. If you want this team to go nowhere for the next 7-8 years, by all means ride out Carter's contract.

We need to facilitate the tank. We need to stockpile draft picks. It actually HURTS the team to keep the Carters, Toffolis, etc.

No one is expecting Carter+Muzzin for Nylander. What we should expect is Carter for a 1st+decent prospect. Kovalchuk for a 2nd+3rd. Toffoli for 1st+decent prospect. Etc.

That's how you rebuild.

Your not getting a 1st for Carter. He is not anywhere close to what he was before his leg got sliced.

Actually. He sucked ass before his leg got cut, his speed is finally back but his game hasn't.

Carter may have gotten a 1st + a few years ago, but that shipped has probably sailed.

He's a soon to be 34 year old coming off a major injury and is scoring at a 40 point pace.

Stone Hands Lewis getting ice-time at the end of the game with the goalie pulled.

We're f***ed.

We don't even get Hughes either. We'll lose the lottery and pick Gilbert Brule 2.0

Sure you can. Cost controlled 2nd line center/winger for 3 years?

Anyway, Kings are locked to get a top 5 pick as they are officially the 2nd worst team in the league.
