Lol it's like people have selective memories

Who was out nearly the entire 2016 season that probably would have made a difference?
You're right it isn't fair the Kings have to play games with good players out of the lineup. The other teams in the league don't have to do it.

Another wonderful take.

You know only one team can win it every year. Tampa has put themselves in a strong position 3 of the last 4 years including this year.

The Kings....?

You’re awful take would be like saying Florida has been as successful as Nashville because they have the same number of cups.

You do realize I was replying to someone who said it’s wrong to say there should be major changes to the Kings after 4 bad years if you don’t do the same for Tampa after one.
Second place is the first loser. Nashville and Florida have had the same success.

Jack shit.

Anyone saying different is full of crap. Nobody around here has ever said “the Kings were so successful in 1993”. They f***ing choked.

Now I know why Stevens was more that miffed after the 1st goal. It was icing and the ref never blew it down. Linesman had his arm raised as soon as it was cleared (look by the Fox logo). Goal should've never counted.

Quicks god awful softie less than a minute into the 1st is what literally cost them the game. It was an uphill battle from then on.

Thats not even on him. Everyone, and I mean all 10 guys on the ice expected the puck to go to that side. When Reider fell he knocked the puck off the net and right to the Oiler player who was as surprised as anyone. Lucky goal, nothing more.

...and as the star players on this roster age, you can expect to see more of them.
Sure. On the bright side our stars made it to 30 and won multiple cups before getting hurt and missing significant games year after year, unlike Stamkos. Guy is 28 and is already approaching Lindros territory.

Went back and watched it in real time, it was icing and was never called. Dion got back well before the Oiler guy and thought it was icing too.

You're an excellent student of ancient history.

We'll see how they respond on Monday vs. Calgary, a team in a similar spot.

Do we get the Colorado woodchipper version who knows they've gotta go balls out to make it? Or do we get the "home game at 12 pm on a saturday vs a divisional opponent" version that lets in the first goal on the third shot and never recovers?

Normally I'd say we're ripe for a letdown game but I'm hopeful tonight was that one and while unacceptable they were clearly gassed at the end of a nasty roadie.

5 points on a 4 game road trip should be good. That's 103 points over 82 games. That's a playoff spot. You can't realistically ask for more.

It's not even tonight's game. It's the 5-5 record in the last 10 home games. Including that loss to St.Louis. The Kings beat Colorado the other day to sort of negate the Blues loss, but the Avs are ahead of the Kings now too. Both of those teams with a game in hand.

The stupid Chicago game.

7-10-3 at home against the West. 13-8-3 on the road against the West. 20-18-6 against the West in total.

The other teams are 13-4-3 in LA, and 11-10-3 at home against the Kings. 24-14-6 in total.

So the Kings have a -8 point differential against their direct competition for a playoff spot. It's -12 at home. Tonight notwithstanding, they're above par on the road. The story of the season is in that -8 somewhere.

This team is annoying. I'm done for the night.

the remaining schedule isn't too bad:
VS CGY
VS ARZ (Jack Campbell)
@ ANA - 2nd of a back to back
VS COL
VS MIN
VS DAL

we could finish 4-1-1
