Post-Game Talk: GM 70 | Blues def. Canucks | 4-3 (OT) (Boeser x2, Sherwood) | So close.

"Our highest paid player gets to spin his stick stare at it, and stand there after he fumbles it because it was a bad pass by the best player on our team"

Canuck fans in 2025.

I kinda understood the fumble. He was kinda closed in on by 2 St.Louis players, but that part I wasn't really concerned about. Its what he did after.

Instead of rushing back for a defensive formation, he just bent over, spinned his stick, starred at it, for like 3 quarter of seconds, than he skated back which was too late. Have he startd skated back earlier, wouldn't have been a 2 on 1.

Elias Pettersson is just waiting for the season to end. He rather not play the playoffs because if he has bad stats, the blame would be put on him. Can't play "bad" in the playoffs, if you're not even playing in the playoff.

He has a play on that puck if he keeps skating. Instead he acts like the puck went out of play and looks at his blade. What in god's name is wrong with this guy

A point gained against all odds.....but unfortunately it's almost as bad as an outright loss. Blues now three games up in the ROW category. And the Canucks OT record now 5-11--not nearly good enough to be a playoff team.

Watching Hughes try to gut it out these days is depressing. I worry that he's headed towards another injury. But despite being far below 100 percent, Tocchet is still forced to play him 30 minutes night. What choice does he have?

Even if by some miracle they make the playoffs, what will Hughes have left? He needs a long off-season rehab more than a 'one-and-done' playoff series.

Only clueless haters shit on Petey for that play. Hughes threw him a "grenade" and played like crap the entire game.

Ohhhok then........so it's ok to fumble the puck and look at your stick like it's your sticks fault .........while an odd man rush is forming the other way?

I'm generally a big Petey proponent but you can't have that level of effort in overtime in a game like this.....

what I saw was Petey giving up on the play after he fumbled the puck. Nobody is upset at Petey fumbling the puck. People are upset that he just stopped skating, in detail , he twirled his stick, starred at it, then started skating, by then those blues players already blown pass him.

I think you should re-watch the replay. He went to pressure the back guy, who made a long pass up when he saw the bad change being committed. At the very least, there was no "giving up" that I could see.

They didn’t play it right, but Pettersson had been on the ice for a minute and a half and Hughes for more than two minutes when that play happened. They were both probably gassed at that point.

The "give up" comes from clueless people who don't know shit about hockey and just want to scapegoat someone for the loss. It should be Hughes but since he is now the goldenboy he gets a pass. I'd also blame the guy who went for a change, turned his back on the play and opened up a perfect passing lane. I think it was DeBrusk with a very low IQ decision.

Petey flubbbed it in the end but if you really know hockey, u'd understand that Hughes had a worse game. Atrocious, 7 unforced errors
Just a suspicion on my part. But if the Canucks were currently 10 points out of a playoff spot, I doubt Hughes would even be playing.

But he's going to give it what he has.......but he can't do it alone. And I just can't see this group of forwards being good enough to even squeeze into the playoffs.

3-on-3 OT is stupid. I blame that
