man, it's a long wait until March 8th

we have to simmer in all this negative **** for a little while

Maybe they looked ahead to their break a little too early.

You'd think they'll come out with some urgency after this game, what with it being such a disappointment, but who knows. The next game is 4+ days from now, which might as well be 1,000 years. At least it's an eastern team they come back against. They might have a chance to win. It's the two teams after the Caps that should scare everyone.

Doughty not available for media?

Shocking. It's just like having his gloves glued on.
I honestly don't care. He's done this before and he's answered before. He'll just say the same shit. "As a leader I have to have better control. I've grown a lot as a leader and think I've matured a lot." Then he'll do the same shit next time and say the same thing again.

missed this game at work, read the box score and wondered how the f*** we choked up 3 in the 3rd, saw the penalties list..

oof.

i dunno man he just got roasted by his coach publicly, this might be enough to get through that thick skull of his

There has to be more to this than that, If that was all, then that's a pretty sad bench minor, I've heard worse from beer leaguers, so either there is more, or he was on them all night about something etc
You can't throw your stick and gloves. I'm sure stuff like that's said all the time but you can't throw your equipment.

I doubt it cause he says all the right things all the time. He just doesn't actually follow through.

i mean the rule is pretty clear, clapping your stick off the glass is specifically dictated as an unsportsmanlike

you gotta know that as a pro

One game out of 82. Get over it and move on. Those of you who think trading Doughty for better talent is a good idea better ask yourselves what better talent looks like. Doughty is a generational talent who has few peers right now. I for one would rather the team help Doughty get a better handle on his emotions than trade him.

Again, seen much more, he threw them down, etc, again, if that's ALL there was to it, then it's borderline bad call, those guys catch a helluva lot more crap than that that they let go, it could be more of a reputation and enough is enough call if he's been on them all game etc...

Doughty is a child.

This team will be extremely lucky to win a playoff round with their inconsistent play.

Penalty or not, there’s no reason to blow a 3-1 lead in a heated playoff race when you’re the alleged “Best GAA” team in the league. That stat has become so horribly misleading when it comes to the Kings and their constant untimely defensive gaffes and inconsistent goaltending.

Stripping the C from Brown may have been the stupidest thing Lombardi did in his tenure as Kings GM. Making the wrong hockey decision on Lucic, Tuebert, Richards etc. is one thing, the decision to strip Brown was personal and reeked of desperation.

I said that from the get go, and I’ve never been a huge Brown mark.

It was clearly due to the rift between Sutter and Brown. But instead of siding with your captain who’s signed at an untradeable cap hit forever, Dean sides with his buddy Sutter.

Abysmal management.

The kings lost as a team. Yeah Doughty was a difference maker the wrong way today, but it’s not like he lost it by himself. Still points left to earn. Just better make sure this team is mentally ready for playoff style hockey the rest of the way.

Doughty plays with emotion and you have to accept that Would be nice for him to cool it especially when the team is up by two late in a game But doing so might take away his effectiveness.
I'll gladly take the bad for all the good we get to see from him Even with this being a hard loss and big two points

Yep
He took off his helmet and throw it at the floor.
That’s when they gave him the extra two

It's definitely not all on him but he's the one that allowed Chicago the chance to get back into the game. It was over. Chicago wasn't scoring 2 more goals today by themselves unless they were given an opportunity. They were given that with the Doughty penalties.

The good Doughty brings far , far outweighs the dumb, immature things he does sometimes (that can cost games like today).

It will be a horrible day in Kings history when if/when he leaves, and it won't take long for all Kings fans to regret not fully appreciating what we had.
They can't allow him to just walk. Even if it means being worse next season, they have to move him if they get the sense he isn't re-signing. Losing him for nothing will sink the franchise. Trading him will at least allow them to stay afloat.
