As someone who is extremely competitive and was okay with Drew's tantrums. This is something that really soured on me. Never in my life would I ever react so poorly to a bad call when we're up 3-1 against a dead team. Completely inexcusable.

Like i said, Doughty really screwed up, but Stevens had the option of not putting the Muzzin-Martinez together and did. I forgot who was the pairing that was on the ice before, but he still had one of Phaneuf, Folin or Forbort, all who better defensive players than both Muzzin and Martinez. I get he wanted to send a message to Doughty, but not with a one goal lead. Making miss a shift, but put his ass on the ice soon after. Deal with Doughty after the game or another time
You realize those 2 get the 2nd most PK time on the 3rd(?) best PK in the league right? Didn't help Quick shot the rebound right to Anisimov in the slot.

The worst part of this is that this could really create a division in the locker room and distract the players especially since we were on a roll

Toronto can take Doughty. Screw him. They can take Forbort too. Maybe they can take Jim Fox as well for being the biggest idiotic homer ever. Hawks came out with pressure at the start of the third? f*** off. No the didn't, Kings were fine until Doughty had a god damn melt down for a stupid reason. This game was probably the most frustrating to watch cause there are clearly specific players you could blame. Stevens better take care of Doughty right away, if not, he can **** off too.

Couple this with him telling Kopitar no, no, no, no when he's trying to talk him off the ledge, if he's not going to listen to those two, his peers, who is going to be able to tell Doughty anything?

Doughty is one of the biggest punks in the league, K17 said it best, we would be grilling this guy non stop if he were a Shark, Duck or Flame.

And it's not even one of those tough to play against type punks, he just does selfish things on the ice that sometimes hurt his team. No doubting his talent but I really don't know if he has the mental makeup to be an alpha type player on a contending team. And that will be expected if he is signed to that huge deal.

Doughty needs to be sent a message, and it was Forbort who had one of his patented, panic getting the puck out that gave it away at point blank so the Hawks can tie it.

Doughty cost his team the game today, that is not in dispute. If he is not a dumbass, maybe Stevens does not have to send a message. But here is the thing, if you are going to send a message, it needs to be done right away, as opposed to benching him next Thursday in the first period.

He acts entitled cause he has the letter and the Norris and is one of the best players in the league. That's not competitiveness. That's acting like a spoiled brat who doesn't get his way. It's really quite pathetic for a guy who thinks he's a leader.

Like the Gretzky trade? Draft picks and prospects are a roulette wheel at best.

Not if you have a top notch staff that can and have been evaluating other teams prospects/players.

With regards to the Gretzky trade, I don’t believe the Kings really had a choice in that one.

I've been saying for years we would hate him if he was on another team. I was saying it after Monday's game but got shouted down by the usual ball washers.

Biggest brat in the league. Could be an amazing captain with his talent and competitiveness but he continues to be the biggest bitch in the league.

I'm not even gonna get into this since some of you started hating on Doughty when he refused to fight.
I don't mind him refusing to fight. Don't run your mouth and just skate away if you are going to let your superior skill do the talking for you.

Kings will sign Doughty, and think they need to, but it would be interesting how he would handle dealing with Toronto, NY, Philly, media.

Look I can get over stupid plays, they are just physical mistakes or even brain cramps while guys are playing. But when the game is stopped, and the entire situation is controllable and you pull the crap Drew did, it is the pinnacle of selfish and idiotic play

Yes, the Forbort was the tying goal. I'm more upset at the PP goal when Muzzin and Martinez were on the ice. They don't play well together and chances of them giving up a goal was sky hi. But its over, I'm not going into a 10 page discussion on this. Let the team as a whole deal with it.

Yup. Pretty terrible. Oh well, time to go drink away my disappointment in Drew.

the irony behind people thinking Doughty will leave LA if the Kings don't make the playoffs lol

It's all tied together and you know that
In a sense. But you're just being over the top to seek justification for the fact he didn't fight. It's evident you have an axe to grind.

He doesn't need to fight whether you like it or not, I would have. But he has a choice. Second, did make an extremely idiotic play, it's just obvious some of the anger here has another source.
