I've already adopted the Jets. Now that's a patient well built organization that are proud of the logo.

This team just feels like a bunch of hired guns who are part of the business of hockey with a few exceptions. Kinda what you get when you just keep flushing everyone year to year

I was pretty close to buying a ticket and driving down for this one so yeah... happy i dodged one

Net front coverage was obviously terrible and the main reason for the loss. Seems like you plug one hole and another one appears. Team started well but has too many holes to play anything like a complete game.

Good

O'Connor - was one player keeping the puck in the Seattle end and pushing some offense.

Suter - contributing well on special teams and playing good two way hockey

Joshua - nice goal and was getting to the net for chances. Broke up plays again in his end.

Chytil - at this point likely our best offensive forward (although Garland needs consideration)

Bad

Boeser - and some are suggesting we are willing to sign this player long term at a high average salary? (something like 8 or 9 mill per) Well why not tie another anchor to the team moving ahead. Might want to change the team name to the Vancouver Anchors (maintains the maritime theme). Boeser should be traded before the team touches down in Vancouver but probably A & R will up the offer. Was miserable in this game.

Pettersson - depressing thing is that he does seem to be trying. This is apparently (and every bit of evidence reinforces this) what he is. One of the saddest episodes in Canuck history is upon us and is, in fact, just beginning.

Hronek and Hughes - just awful net front work. Rarely have players been so open for tips. Hronek looks wasted after some good work earlier on the road trip and Hughes looks too injured to play. But so typical of the team. Perspective never enlarges beyond any consideration other than the next shift. At some point, Vancouver fans may hope that this great young player and person is allowed to rejoin his brothers just to save him from the being run into the ground by our coaches and management.

Bains - confirms again he can't play at this level. What are they trying to prove???

At this point near impossible to see this team as anything other than below League average. Aslo hard to see how present regime is much different than the one they replaced. Hopefully someone in the organization has the intelligence and courage to shut Hughes down if his future health is endangered.

Canucks with 27 regulation and OT wins in 60 games. It's actually embarrassing that this team is still somehow in a playoff position.

No team with that record should be anywhere near the playoffs. But in Gary Bettman's world, even their laughably bad 5-11 OT record, and the mediocrity of the rest of the Western Conference, is allowing them to hang around.

But let's not kid ourselves here. Even if they were finish 8th--they'd be 'roadkill' in the first round of the playoffs. And the only thing they'd really accomplish, would be to worsen their draft position.

Fast and determined start, unlucky not to have 3 or 4 goals in the 1st period.

Just too many breakdowns and lost coverages after that.

Once again needed top forwards to produce and they were nowhere to be found.

Hughes reaggravating his injury is the final nail in the coffin.

What management does this trade deadline will say a lot about their level of competence.

Giraffe 4 shots tonight
Pettersson 4 shots in his last 8 games, 5 in his last 9

Because that seems to be the game plan from our dumb coach. Look at the game logs, Myers is always one of the leading shot takers on the team. That’s the game plan back to the point and funnel pucks on net.

We need a better coach… I am pretty done with Touchette he doesn’t have answers and even when something works he goes away from it. He doesn’t adjust, and can’t coach offense. He does a great job t job doing defensive hockey, but there is more to the game.

Hang in there same sort stuff going on now a win or two would fricken help

Nah, it's alright I think. My family is uniquely different, but we all more or less have the same problems given we have the same DNA.

Mad as hatters, we are. I've found my enjoyment from it, but my younger brethren do not always see the 'funny' side of it.

Probably why I still keep coming back to watch this trainwreck happily

Looks like a first-round exit, maybe even a sweep. But how does this team retool to try at it again in 25-26? Will Lekkerimaki ready to step into a top-six role? Any decent free agents that won't try and command $11 million a year? The defense is set but the forward corps need at least one major addition.

Same thing I said about AV in 2009ish...

Good coaches can coach personalities and teams. Great coaches can adapt strategies for the players they have.

Unfortunately, the biggest difference between AV and Tocchet and the 15 year gap is *how* differently the game is played these days.

Free Agency roster moves basically set teams up to have the same blueprint as the Minnesota Wild 2012-20....good teams. But not great teams. Very little success to show when it counted.

I'd look more into trades and buying low. Very rarely do players want to test the market at the low points of their value. FA is basically built on "buy high, pray, and then pray some more".

Sometimes, it just isn't your year. The latest calamity is that Hughes is clearly struggling with this oblique injury. And the chances of being 'able to play through it' is just dreaming in technicolor . Probably the only thing that will ever make it right is a long off-season.

But Miller being dumped; Demko barely playing a month; and a full-on faceplant by EP40--sometimes you just have to resign yourself to it. It'll soon be time to dust off the draft rankings and put the 2024-25 season in the garbage bag.
