I mean honestly. Trade Carter, Muzzin or Martinez, Pearson or Toffoli. Definitely Gaborik. Retool this roster like it should've been done at the start of last season.
To further elaborate on my post. I'd move Carter for a 1st and a center. Maybe a 3 way trade to grab Pageau from Ottawa and a 1st something like that. Trade Muzzin or Martinez for a big winger with goal scoring potential. Think Richie from Anaheim, something along those lines. Trade Toffoli or Pearson for one of Carolina's young defensemen. A retool can work if you identify young players who can come in and make a difference.

Watched some, couldn't stomach all 3 periods. Seems like the better teams that they've played, the forwards are effectively back-checking and LA's are continuously behind the play when they should be back-checking. Just an observation.
Hated the games of both TT and Pearson last night, both were useless as breasts on a bull. Not a fan of the effort.

Why did they mess with a winning streak? You never ever F with a winning streak, EVER. Is Quick's ego that delicate? Stop trying to out-think the room. If you win, stay the course.

I agree with the sentiment. When it comes to any move involving Carter, I think you are going to have to look to a cup contender in need of a solid 2C.

Awful decision by mgmt to make numerous lineup changes after the DAL game.

Clifford, Andreoff and Forbort should never play over a healthy Amadio, Brodzinski and LaDue. It’s mind boggling to think anyone would consider that a stronger roster any night of the season, never mind against NAS.

If it’s true that the reason was due to the fathers trip, I just have to shake my head. God help us Kings fans if they have something similar planned for when the moms travel with the team.

Stevens needs to realize that grit and board play result in penalties in today’s NHL. And the Kings don’t have depth players who are both gritty and can play with the puck on their stick.

To have even a shot at making the playoffs it’s really apparent that the skilled kids they have must play more, Kuemper should get more starts and Quick needs a shorter leash. And worst case you lose and miss the playoffs anyways but at least you get to make a real evaluation of the prospects trying to earn a full time job with the big club.

Hes a bottom pairing defenseman nothing more.

He's got 4 goals in 145 games, the writing is on the wall. BUST. He's got a 1.9 shooting percentage which is a hideous number and he's playing 21:05 a night, career high. This is the issue with the Kings roster. You have the majority of the players where if you increased their ice time substantially their points don't move. It's a whole lot of nothing, which should be Forbort's nickname. He doesn't have a shot on goal in 5 straight games, what are you doing out there?

He is a defensive defenseman so I don't really expect many goals out of him. Greene had 16 goals in 464 games for the Kings and a 4.1 shooting %. Not sure why you use goals as a way to evaluate Forbort. He hasn't been playing well this year and he's more of a 4-6 d-man but to call him a bust because he can't score seems kind of silly.

The sooner we lose our slow one dimensional pylons the better our defense will be. All this talk about how good he his.. He can't skate.. He cant pass, and he doesnt know how to handle the puck... He's simply not good.

Kings need to get rid of players like him and try to bring in two way defensemans at least.

I for one hope that LaDue grows more because his skillset is exactly what the Kings are lacking. Fast mobile defenseman

For me, Forbort is only considered a Top 4 because he generally plays with Doughty which means you are going to eat up some minutes.

On a contender, he's a bottom pairing guy. I don't care about advanced stats or what have you: he is not as good as Scuderi/Mitchell/Greene. This team does not have the forwards to overcome a defense that has 3 legit guys and then a bunch of bottom pairing dudes.

This team couldn't handle losing Martinez the last time he went out and will not be able to do so this time around. Hopefully it is a minor thing.

Very few people believe hes easily he's top 4.

There was a lot of Forbort hype this season and a lot of love cause he started okay. His game then fell off the map and people realized hes pretty useless and the dick riding stopped.

He's a high 5th, regular 6th.

This organization could really use a Swiss army knife on the blue line like Willie Mitchell right now.

I think he tops out as a #4 but wouldn't be upset to see him on the 3rd pairing with Martinez.

Martinez needs to get off his weak side though. Much better on his strong side but they force him to play the right side cause of necessity.

I could never figure out what noise the Kings fans would make when Larry Murphy carried the puck. The way things are are going for Forbort i see that kind of treatment in his future.

Paul LaDue is closer to Davis Drewiske than Forbort. The hyperbole on this board reaches epic levels of insanity sometimes.

I wasn't talking about LaDue, and what exactly does Forbort do that qualifies him as a top 4 defenseman? Have you seen how he performs away from Doughty? He's a mess. You are right about hyperbole... Forbort as a top 4 defenseman is a greatly exaggerated statement.

This is such an awful proposal.you trade carter for a defenseman, trade Martinez + (Gaborik ) for a winger and slot in Vilardi next year.

If the trade Kings trade carter you get a great defenseman back, and hope Vilardi can be a real solid 2C next year

Whatever you say bud. You're basically saying the exact same thing as me, just switching up the returns.

Because your returns don't address the most important issue in our line up.

No defensive talented prospect except Clague

Never said you were. Simply pointing out that LaDue and his late arrival to the pros is far more similar than the similarly aged Forbort. I can admkt he's a mess...this season. Where the defense as a whole is a mess. We've seen him play at a top 4 level. With or without Doughty. Some of you are the biggest drama queens around here. The team is what it is. BLACK HOLE BOUND. That's what most of us thought at the start of the season. Guys are underperforming and the team shows but does that negate their play previously? Are you going to tell me no one thought Kopitar was a number 1 center in the league anymore because of his shitty season last season?

How do you figure when I specifially mentioned moving Pearson or Toffoli for one of Carolinas defensemen?
