Hughes a PPG Dmen with a positive goal differential playing the most minutes on a bottom 5 team in the league and people are drooling over a trade for a guy who isn’t even in the league, a middle six winger with potential and late first round pick. Hughes is so under appreciated here.

I agree that Hughes is incredibly overrated. He’s improved so much in the defensive end the last 2 years and is a top 5 defensive pp playmaking qb, and we still here stuff in every GDT about his muffin shot or that he doesn’t have the body of Shea Weber.

That being said you would have to think hard about this trade if you think Simon Nemec is a top pairing D. Mercer is a looking like a 40+ p ES player at age 21 playing middle 6 minutes.
