Nope, you're seeing what we're seeing, kid is an animal. It's honestly baffling how/why he hasn't scored more particularly as he was a major part of the Kopitar/Brown resurgence earlier in the year. Back then, he was getting the 'third assist' like mad, being a crazy puckhound. In camp, Quick and the other goalies talked about his release a lot and how it was hard to track. Also, the coaches rave about his learning. I'd like to think he has a high ceiling based on all of that, but he's looking like a Cogliano clone more than anything right this moment (edit: I say that in a flattering way because I'm higher on Cogs than most, I'm sure that part will get taken apart here :P)

I could see that, he seems like hes all over the ice and a hard worker(which is basically what cogliano is), the only defining question for him to really be cogliano is can he score on a breakaway... cause cogliano cant do that to save his life.

So hes been more used as a winger? I think hes listed as a center(cogliano is too i think) but I kinda assumed he might play winger due to where I noticed him on the forecheck and what not. Not a bad option to toss on kopitars wing maybe to build a kesler/cogs/silf style line. I also think vilardi is going to be a stud for you guys as soon as next year, I think hes going to end up the best player in that draft class.

We’re here discussing problems miring this team, problems that have persisted consistently for four straight seasons. You’re the crybaby who is more focused on going after posters, and evidently, it seems to be bothering you quite a bit.

Keep fighting the good fight of those who like to bury their heads in the sand. Keep living in the past, you know, the same thing you accuse others of doing when past failures are brought up.

Believe it or not, it is possible to analyze a situation, understand it with all of it's faults and flaws, acknowledge it, and not lose your mind over it. It's what rational people do actually, and does not require "living in the past" or "burying your head in the sand." It's clear though that certain people here can't tell the difference between rational debate and endless bitching about the same things. Just like that kid that keeps asking "are we there yet", when the parents finally tell him to shut up after the 100th time, it's not because they're "crybabies", "cupcakes", are "living in hte past" or "burying their head in the sand", they're just sick of the kid's shit and want him to stop being a twat.

So with this logic I guess none of us are allowed to criticize politics because none of us are politicians?

Nope not saying that at all, was merely expanding on Shellz comment about getting bent out of shape over a hockey team. To use your example of politics, at least there it actually affects your life in a tangible way. If the Kings losing every game for the rest of the season ruins your life, you should probably re-examine things (talking about the royal you, not you specifically).

He's actually been used mostly as a center this year especially in Carter's absence. In the last few games he's been moved to Kopitar's wing and around a bit to jumpstart the offense because the dude has that lightning strike capability even when things look like they aren't gonna happen (score against the flow of play etc.). I like his offensive game at center because it allows him to use his skating more but he looked better than I thought at wing. Crazy thing is he's only 21...

I liked Hayward’s and Fox’s passive aggressive back and forths tho.

Two of the worst in the business.

But Comcast is to cheap to send a neutral broadcast team to the West Coast so we are stuck with Heyward for Ducks games, Fox and often Faust for Kings games and Hahn for Sharks games on national tv.

All this hate for Fox is funny.Listen to Bob since 82 and Bob and Fox for the 27 yrs they were together.Fox is alright and doesn't deserve the hate he receives. He is better than the Sharks guy or Coyotes or Ducks.I rather hear him break down a play than anyone at his position that has done NBCSN games period.Ive heard them all and was never impressed.

Did you notice that during one of the period breaks NBCSN described Brown's $10k fine and showed video why the fine was handed out.

They didn't way a word about Malkin's $5000 fine... or show a video why he was fined. hmmmmm:huh:

Bob McKenzie had a 5 part twitter thread about the hit, yet didn't mention Malkins spear once or fine.

I am firmly in the camp and have been that you can reload, not rebuild and stay competitive. It would require the Kings to shed a guy like Carter for a massive haul. Few around here seem to be on board with that. With that said, desiring to see the team reload and move off some of the best trade chips the Kings have while they're still valuable doesn't make me negative or a whiner or whatever the flavor of the day on this board seems to be. This team has holes and logically it makes sense to move guys like Carter, Gaborik Martinez, guys in their 30's, for early 20's players.

You actually have a good point, we can shed some really good older players like Carter for some really solid deals so we can reload properly. In theory it could be huge.

Also Vilardi has been tearing it up?

Back before Ottawa sucked I suggested Carter for Pageau, a 1st +. Do something like that and then Muzzin or Martinez for an on the cusp d man or scorer or high picks to reload the pipeline or to be traded for immediate help.

Vilardi has 14 points in 8 games since returning from injury

One thing the Kings can't do is trade draft picks for players. They did that in the past and it hasn't worked out. Just look at LA,s prospect list, it stinks.

Agree completely. This season was/is an evaluation year. Any sort of trade to “go for it” would be a waste of assets. When you understand that it makes it all the more absurd how pissed people can get over the state of the team this year. And that was even before Carter went down.

Yeah. I appreciate fandom, but it's not worth losing enjoyment over it.

I usually am negative after a couple of losses, after 6, I stay away from these boards because I don't want to get sucked in. But I see today that everyone else doing the same as me by not being dramatic. So it's good to see we have very resilient fans in moments like these.

It's kind of funny how a REAL losing streak brings out the even-keeled thoughts.

Those 1-3 game losses usually result in overreactions (just like wins often do to be fair).

I could see us pulling a Boston pretty easily, frankly.

Vilardi is an unstoppable force. There's nothing for him to do in juniors but completely dominate the Memorial Cup. Every shift I watch of that guy something phenomenal happens, even if it's just because the puck is only on his stick for a split second before he rifles a pass. The guy's decision making is...obviously it's at the junior level but I'm not sure it's something I've ever seen before.

Exactly, and to be honest Im good with over reaction in small stretches, but through long stretches being emotional and too invested can be hard on yourself as a fan and other people (these boards) I find myself getting less angry during a big losing streak because I don't want to pile on the
Team anymore than they already have been, and lastly I don't want to make these boards into an area of hopelessness. I want people to be happy and have productive conversations. Every one is entitled to lament no doubt about the team woes, but I'm not cause I don't want to add more.

Is he really that good? That's really awesome to hear.

I know there's a good chance he will play next year, but what's the earliest he can come to the team? I heard that he sees the game through the scope of a seasoned NHL player, he can't be far imo.
