I could see us pulling a Boston pretty easily, frankly.

Vilardi is an unstoppable force. There's nothing for him to do in juniors but completely dominate the Memorial Cup. Every shift I watch of that guy something phenomenal happens, even if it's just because the puck is only on his stick for a split second before he rifles a pass. The guy's decision making is...obviously it's at the junior level but I'm not sure it's something I've ever seen before.

That's great news seeing how much we'll need him after we trade Kopitar in the off-season.

Is he really that good? That's really awesome to hear.

I know there's a good chance he will play next year, but what's the earliest he can come to the team? I heard that he sees the game through the scope of a seasoned NHL player, he can't be far imo.

Had he gone in the Top 5 like he was suppose to and had a healthy summer, he'd probably already be in the NHL.

Agree completely. This season was/is an evaluation year. Any sort of trade to “go for it” would be a waste of assets. When you understand that it makes it all the more absurd how pissed people can get over the state of the team this year. And that was even before Carter went down.
I suppose some people are pissed, and its their prerogative. Not sure why you care so much about the emotions of other fans.

I for one have definitely not watched every minute of every game this season. I would like to see some recognition of reality from this organization's leadership and a viable plan to move forward. I certainly don't believe in the "hope Vilardi is a great top sixer, and LaDue or Clague is going to be a great top four" plan for next season and the Kings are right back in contention.

This roster is not going to contend in the next several years. Move the assets of value before they decline further in value and start getting the team in a position to contend again in 4-5 years.

Because the mentally imbalanced create an avalanche of sewage that has to be navigated to get to anything of substance, and I’m fresh out of hip waders.

It’s easy to predict doom given every team but one fails every year. I’m interested to see what happens, but that’s just me.

I mean, I generally agree that the team likely needs a comprehensive rebuild to contend again.

But this board HAS become pretty toxic. A lot of the negative voices, though objectively on the right track, seem more concerned with being /r/iamverysmart than contributing to any constructive discourse.

What you call sewage, I call fair criticism. People are not mentally imbalanced because they don't see it your way. The real BS is having to wade through the posts being critical of other posters simply because they don't like the direction the organization is taking in getting back to contention some day.

Calling those posters "haters" or making other derogatory comments toward them is imbalanced.

Everyone is interested to see what happens. The red herring about every team but one failing every year is garbage. Some teams are contenders, some teams are young and making progress toward the ultimate goal, some are treading water or trending downward with aging rosters.

Again how is suggesting a different course of action than the one the Kings management has charted now being negative? Ideas like moving Carter or any other veteran players who will not be at their best when the Kings might be able to contend again is having a positive attitude in my opinion.

I am open to constructive discourse. When someone posts "I think the Kings should get Player X top four defenseman in a trade", they never identify the assets which will be used to make the deal. If you point it out, you are negative? Baloney.

...and I hate to break it to some of you. Everyone can't be correct in their assessment of this roster, because one of the two directions being advocated will be proven to be incorrect.

There is a wide chasm between fair criticism and:

"Muzzin is brain dead"
"Muzzin is brain dead"
"Muzzin is stupid"
"Muzzin is a dope"
"Muzzin is brain dead"
"Muzzin is brain dead"
"Muzzin is a dope"

If you don't see the difference, I don't know what to tell you. And don't pretend you'd be happy with a second or third round playoff exit. Second place is the first loser.

Of course there is a difference. I only see a small minority of posters calling for a change in course making these types of posts. In fact, I see a great many of these posts from people who think only a few minor tweaks are needed to the roster by buying at the deadline who are guilty of the same type of posts. Most of the time they are criticizing Clifford or Shore as if those two have anything to do with Toffoli, Pearson, Kopitar, etc. going stone cold over the past few weeks.

Yes, because all we keep posting in every discussion criticizing the team is about Muzzin, yet his name hasn't even been brought up lately... perhaps you are the problem? You really do come across as a miserable person who gets off on attempting to bully other posters. But don't worry, I won't back down, and I'll keep posting my thoughts, regardless of what you want to cry about this time.

Maybe fans do it when any player makes a critical error, like you and others tend to do when Trevor Lewis goofs up a gimme goal? Yet some of us don't care if anyone bothers to do that or write whatever they want about a certain player. There are those who are more critical of Quick when he gives up goals, some warranted and just, some I might not find was his fault, but it's even more obnoxious and petulant when one decides to be the resident jackass and start to whine at any shred of criticism.

And did you just start watching sports? I guess you never were around when the fans would get on Darryl Sydor? Or the Escort Defense? Or Joe Corvo? Or Craig Johnson? These "scapegoats" have existed since sports existed. Fans have been critical of players on sports talk shows, message boards, personally among friends, etc.

Perhaps it would be more productive if some of you grew a spine and started talking about the sport rather than putting your efforts and focus on the opinions of other posters. Nobody likes a jackass sitting atop his high horse.
