Can't they have a gentleman's agreement to just let the time be over rather than doing all that **** for no reason.
meh, i think it's necessary for the integrity of the game

pretty silly calling toronto just to get some generic "6 seconds" added on

i think they could've figured that out without a phone call

Losing two out of every 3 games isn’t terrible. Spread the ice time around to the kids, trade vets for picks and try to score a top 3 pick by the end.

Fitting,

The Wings out played the Kings last game they met and lost.

That's how it goes some days,

1st was very entertaining back and forth, 2nd they stopped for a bit, but also Detroit started to pull back into structure, and the 3rd, wasn't as entertaining, but still some really bright spots,

Toffoli - Kempe - Scherbak line is fun to watch, and they have some offense,

Leipsic is fun to watch, Carter looks like he's just biding his time....I don't have a strong read on Luff, can't tell if he can't skate, or is lazy, he can shoot, but he's gotta move,

Amadio played much better today I thought than he did in the Vegas game, better quicker decisions, he didn't overthink etc.

For the Ladue fan club.Dont hate the messenger.

two line pass was one of the most obnoxious calls in the history of hockey imo

i'm all for allowing stretch passes if they decide to call interference correctly

I like the old time hockey of two line rule better than today. Its cherry picking now and the 2lr kept teams honset. The game now is much softer than it once was as well.Probably make the argument that sense the 2lr was dissolved the increase speed of the game has created more serious injuries like headshots.NHL is going to have to slow the game now evidently due to the concussion issues.

I saw Ladue covering a different player in the corner as the play developed in front of the net. It looked like Ladue was the only D back and the center probably should have had Nielsen. Ladue did head towards the front of the net covering the other player as Nielsen shot twice.

Am I wrong?

In 2003 Scott Stevens almost killed Paul Kariya in the infamous playoff hit. The 2LP was dissolved in 04-05.

I would argue it’s made the game safer.

I don't understand why you would say that. That rule was scrapped after the lock out to help speed up the game and create more chances.

The 2LP rule would not let this play happen:

Plenty of ways to bring the offense back and 2LP rule is not one of them.

Not disagreeing but that play would have still counted. The receiving player has to already be on the offensive side of the second line in which brown was not on that play (he would have been offsides too).

No way man. This is a very talented team that plays with heart and effort every night. It's clear they have turned the corner, still plenty of time to lock up a WC spot and make a run like the 2012 & 2014 teams.

If you've played goal before you know it's not smart to.poke check when the guy is in a shooting position right?

Is it better to keep your stick tight to your legs / body and watch the shooter score anyway?

Attempting a poke check once in a while would at least keep shooters guessing.

Does Quick do anything in his game now that surprises anyone? Of course not.

yeah how about kopi's lack of effort on that same play

stood there in the crease staring at every man skate by him then stood there as the puck went past him into the net
Anze Kopitar, on tonight’s loss not being due to a lack of effort:
Yeah. I don’t think there’s any night we question effort with this group. We obviously alway try and play as hard as you can really. Like tonight, yeah, that second period could’ve been a lot different if we did bury a couple of goals. We had a few two-on-ones that, when you get ‘em, you’ve just got to capitalize on them and we didn’t do it and they did.

Trade that dude right now.
