Is it better to keep your stick tight to your legs / body and watch the shooter score anyway?

Attempting a poke check once in a while would at least keep shooters guessing.

Does Quick do anything in his game now that surprises anyone? Of course not.

Anze Kopitar, on tonight’s loss not being due to a lack of effort:
Yeah. I don’t think there’s any night we question effort with this group. We obviously alway try and play as hard as you can really. Like tonight, yeah, that second period could’ve been a lot different if we did bury a couple of goals. We had a few two-on-ones that, when you get ‘em, you’ve just got to capitalize on them and we didn’t do it and they did.

I don’t think so. Nobody is saying LaDue is a god, like Forbort he makes plenty of mistakes, but has only received a fraction of the playing time to work through them. Unlike Forbort, he actually has the ability to generate offense, which is a little more entertaining than watching Forbort trip on his dick every time he tries to shoot the puck.

In 2003 Scott Stevens almost killed Paul Kariya in the infamous playoff hit. The 2LP was dissolved in 04-05.

I would argue it’s made the game safer.

I bet more concussions have occurred since they did away with the 2lp than when they first started the 2lr.

I miss the Palffy vs Red Wings games. That was not boring. Though the Kings were odds on to lose in the last 2 seconds , it was "must see TV".

On another note, Detroit must relinquish the title of "Hockeytown". The arena is always empty and the mighty wings fans turned out to be big time bandwagoners. I nominate Nashville as the new Hockeytown.

Playing one or the other isn't going to change much on this team or any other team. LaDue may be better off heading over to Europe, very similar to ex-King Kevin Dallman who become the Bobby Orr of Kazakhstan after having a very similar NHL career to LaDue. Forbort will probably hang around the NHL as a generic #6 d-man because of his reach, but he provides very little else to an NHL team.

The organization doesnt care what we think nor does our opinions affect the organization decision making on trades or personnel.Its a place for fans to vent and discuss their teams success,failures and play a lil fantasy GM.Im sure Blake and Luc come on HFBOARDS to get advice and make decisions solely by our opinions.

Fire Ranford and bring in a goalie coach that can teach Quick how to poke check.

Larkin brought the puck to within 16 inches of Quick's stick, and what did Quick do? Kept his stick tight against his pads, leaving a clear lane for Larkin to skate thru for an easy goal.

Hey Quick!! - you're giving up the goal anyway, why not make him work for it? - and you may just make the save as well. And per usual, ANY criticism of Quick is off-limits for Fox. He seems to really have a thing for Larkin

Yeah, because we all know the poke check works every time. Sorry dude , but that was a world class goal. From the move to the placement of the shot, it was a great goal. Quick would only look more stupid trying that poke check.

You mean the kings can’t get a 1st and top prospect for each of them? I’m shocked....I thought every player over 25 was worth that much!!
