In his defense [no pun intended] when you play 1 game in every 5 you're gonna have problems finding any consistency. My guess is that WD-40 has no confidence in him and would rather dress 8 forwards. LaDue may be the only dman who can get the puck through from the point, but that doesn't seem to matter when the forwards can't finish.

My real problem is on Forbort. For a high 1st rounder he just sucks. He's been on the team too long to make bonehead plays game after game. Tonight was just another example.

Alex Iafallo. 3 goals last 29 games. avg 18 mins TOI. What the Hell? It's seriously time to move him down and put Scherbak there or someone else.

No one has an issue with him. fast, smart, forechecks, never a liability. But that does not make him a #1 LW. Scoring at a top 6 level makes you a #1 LW.
Move him down. He will be just as good and maybe make another line get going. If Kovy comes back, he should be there.

Unfortunately, Carter and Toffoli are no longer top 6 players... Carter 7.1 shooting % and Toffoli
6.3 %. That's getting in offensive defenseman territory.

Foxy - "Tyler Toffoli..can you say sniper?" sniper? 6.3 shooting percentage. Martinez is at 8.3%. he crashes the net better than any King forward.

Good luck convincing WD. Kovy will play his 7 min on the 4th line once again.

I like the old time hockey of two line rule better than today. Its cherry picking now and the 2lr kept teams honset. The game now is much softer than it once was as well.Probably make the argument that sense the 2lr was dissolved the increase speed of the game has created more serious injuries like headshots.NHL is going to have to slow the game now evidently due to the concussion issues.

By God, is that Dean Lombardi's music?!?!

This quote is a joke, right? That can't be a serious quote. So ****ing vanilla, sounds like something a quote generator would make.

Fitting,

The Wings out played the Kings last game they met and lost.

I realize what the shot count was..... but the game sure didn't seem to play out that way to me.
Some are saying the Wings stole this one tonight...?!? I wonder what game they were watching, because it wasn't the game I watched.
The game I watched, the Wings were up 1-0 after the 1st, and up 3-0 after the 2nd..... The Kings never lead in the game, or even threatened the Wing's lead, so I'm at a complete loss as to how anyone can say the Kings should have won this game. weird.

Because they outplayed them probably 45 minutes of the 60 minute game.

Maybe because the Kings completely outplayed the Wings? Pointing out the score at certain points in the game does not reflect the actual flow within the game. Even adjusting for score (per Natural Stat Trick), the Kings had almost two-thirds of the grade-A scoring chances.

I mean, just look at the heat map...

Yeah, because we all know the poke check works every time. Sorry dude , but that was a world class goal. From the move to the placement of the shot, it was a great goal. Quick would only look more stupid trying that poke check.

How did Quick look doing what he did?

and yes, the poke check NEVER works if you never even try it.

At this point it's a joke that Kopitar is the captain of this team.

One on the team change in captaincy is rare. We're not going to get two, even if the initial change was wrong. I would imagine Kopitar is it until he's done playing, good or bad, even if they bring in completely new management.

I don't care what stupid GM's or organizations usually do, if it's bad for the team it's time to make a change.

I think we’ll see Kopitars dad as coach before we see Kopi as part of management. Maybe Gaspar will get his online mba and be put in charge of ticket sales.

I get that but it's not like the Wings squeeked this one out. They had a multiple goal lead most of the game and won by two goals. Your heat map also doesn't show how bad the Kings were in their own end. The Larkin goal for instance. The actual flow of the game was reflected in the scoreboard. Kings down by 1 after 1st, and down by 3 after the 2nd due to uninspired play by the Kings in their own zone. The Wings had a 1-0 lead 6 and a half minutes into the game and had 5 shots to the Kings 0. Don't tell me the Kings had out played the Wings up to that point. The Wings had one on the board before the Kings even woke up. After the first period, the Kings had 10 shots to the Wings 8 shots. The second period resulted in more uninspired play n the D-zone allowing the 5'-8" Nielsen to stand in front of the net and bang in a rebound or teeing up Larkin on another bad D-zone turnover. Kings down by 3 after 2. With Kings lack of offense, the game was out of reach after the 2nd.

Oh, you finally saw the highlights.....good for you.
